    Position Overview

The Philanthropy & Planned Giving Officer is a senior-level position responsible for strengthening and expanding Our Fund’s philanthropic partnerships, with a primary focus on managing and growing the Planned Giving and Donor Advised Fund (DAF) programs, while also identifying and capitalizing on new opportunities to diversify giving vehicles—such as Charitable Gift Annuities—to meet donor needs and support long-term sustainability. This strategic leader will steward existing donors, cultivate new relationships, and play a key role in shaping the culture of giving within South Florida’s LGBTQ community.

Working closely with the President & CEO and collaborating across departments, the Philanthropy & Planned Giving Officer will ensure that Our Fund remains a trusted philanthropic partner and a national model for LGBTQ-focused charitable giving.

    Key Responsibilities

    Donor Engagement and Stewardship

      • Cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of major donors and fundholders, with an emphasis on deepening relationships and fostering long-term giving.
      • Oversee the planned giving program, including personalized engagement of legacy donors, legacy gift cultivation, and documentation of planned giving intentions.
      • Serve as the primary point of contact for Donor Advised Fundholders, guiding them in their philanthropic goals and connecting them to opportunities for impact.
      • Plan and execute donor-focused events, including recognition receptions, salon gatherings, and educational forums.

    Strategic Leadership and Program Oversight

      • Collaborate with Foundation leadership to align fundraising strategy with organizational goals and community needs.
      • Develop and implement strategic initiatives that promote a culture of philanthropy within the LGBTQ community and among allies.
      • Leverage data, donor analytics, and CRM tools to inform strategy, measure success, and track donor engagement.
      • Represent the Foundation in community settings and philanthropic networks, serving as a visible ambassador of its mission and values.

    Communications and Partnership Development

      • Work with the marketing and communications team to craft compelling donor communications, giving campaigns, and impact stories.
      • Partner with the Program and Grants teams to match donor interests with funding opportunities, ensuring alignment with Our Fund’s mission.
      • Leverage board engagement to expand the Foundation’s support base, including identifying prospects, opening doors, and amplifying philanthropic messaging.
      • Identify and pursue opportunities to grow the DAF program through professional advisor outreach and community partnerships.

      • Strong understanding of philanthropic trends and best practices, especially within the nonprofit, foundation, or LGBTQ sectors.
      • Outstanding interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence; ability to connect authentically with a wide range of stakeholders.
      • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
      • A strong commitment to advancing equity and justice for LGBTQ individuals and communities.
      • Experience with donor databases/CRM systems is a plus.
