    Position Overview

    The Minnesota Democratic-Farmer Labor (DFL) Party is hiring a full-time Operations Director. This position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, improving organizational systems, and ensuring that DFL Headquarters functions effectively to support the Party’s mission. The Operations Director will manage staff and interns, coordinate across departments, and lead strategic initiatives to strengthen internal operations. This role is based in-person at the DFL Headquarters (255 E Plato Blvd, Saint Paul, MN 55107). Standard office hours are 8:30am – 4:30pm Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and weekend work required.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide oversight for all administrative and operational functions of the DFL.
    • Supervise the DFL internship program, including recruitment, training, and performance management.
    • Oversee office facilities including building and equipment, ensuring effective systems and cost efficiency.
    • Oversee all IT and vendor relationships, including all DFL hardware and software.
    • Ensure smooth day-to-day functioning of the DFL headquarters, including supplies and building maintenance.
    • Manage the front reception desk, including greeting visitors, answering incoming calls, and ensuring a welcoming and professional environment.
    • Understand, implement, and escalate security protocols as needed to ensure the safety of staff, visitors, and facilities.
    • Serve as a point of contact for external service providers.
    • Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative workplace culture.

    • A demonstrated ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and identities
    • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in operations, administration, or organizational management..
    • Proven ability to lead teams, manage multiple projects, and set clear priorities.
    • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to anticipate operational needs.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders in a professional and courteous manner.
    • Proficiency with MS Office Suite and GSuite.

    Additional qualifications that will help you succeed in this role:

    • Experience in political, or campaign environments.
    • Familiarity with technology platforms, CRM systems, and office IT infrastructure.
    • Background in vendor contract negotiation and budget management.

    Compensation & Benefits

    This is a full-time position. The DFL offers a competitive benefits package, including:
