    Description

    The Manager of Advancement Operations and Communications is responsible for key communication projects, external event support, and donor relations activities that impact NYBG’s fundraising program.

    Partnership will be vital to this position’s success. As such, the Manger is expected to be a collaborative and strategic member of the Institutional Advancement department and the Advancement Operations team.

    Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Manage processes, communications, and preparation of monthly email newsletters, and emails as needed, including topic selection, drafting, routing for approval, and overseeing digital distribution.
    • Manage email communications as needed.
    • Manage and distribute weekly Institutional Advancement communications calendar.
    • Serve as the Institutional Advancement liaison for monthly Science webinars in patronships with the Science department.
    • Implement digital outreach activities including invitations, and pre/post event communications, in partnership with Marketing.
    • Author and edit written documents, including biographies, reports, letters, acknowledgements, pledge reminders, and other materials as required.
    • Support special projects as assigned by the Advancement Operations management.
    • Other related duties as needed.

    Qualifications:

    • Three or more years of fundraising or job-related experience.
    • One or more years’ experience with a major email platform; preferably Dot Digital or similar.
    • Exceptional time management and organizational skills, sharp attention to detail.
    • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
    • Ability to plan and balance multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
    • Propriety, thoughtfulness, sound judgement, and discretion.
    • Interest and capacity to work with a multi-generational and diverse identity environment, inclusive of donors, staff, volunteer leaders, consultants, and vendors.
    • Willingness to work occasional evenings/weekends for events.
    • Fluency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and Raiser’s Edge or a comparable CRM.
    • Bachelor’s Degree.
    • Driver’s license required.
