    Description

The Bridge to Türkiye Fund (BTF) is seeking an experienced, mission-driven executive director to lead our U.S.-based nonprofit into its next stage of impact. This is a rare opportunity to steer a respected, diaspora-led organization that transforms grassroots action into global generosity and delivers tangible social impact in Türkiye. As the first philanthropy organization of the Turkish-American diaspora, BTF has mobilized over $30 million in resources, reaching more than 4 million individuals and directly supporting 850,000+ students across Türkiye. We’re a fast-moving, growing team driven by a genuine ambition to make a lasting difference in Türkiye - and we’re looking for a leader who shares our passion, integrity, and commitment to cross-border change.

    About the Role

The executive director (ED) serves as BTF’s chief official, responsible for strategy, operations, marketing, financial management, and fundraising. Reporting to the board of directors, the ED oversees a remote team across the U.S. and Türkiye, drives programmatic and financial sustainability, and ensures alignment with our values: transparency, trust, and high-impact delivery.

    Key Responsibilities

    • In close collaboration with the board of directors and key committees, lead long-term goal setting, strategic planning, and execution to advance organizational priorities
    • Drive fundraising and development by cultivating relationships and implementing effective strategies with grassroots supporters, major donors, foundations, and institutional partners
    • Ensure program effectiveness, compliance, and measurable impact across BTF’s core focus areas: education, youth health and well-being, disaster response, and environmental sustainability
    • Build and lead a high-performing, values-driven team while fostering a collaborative, mission-focused culture with employees, volunteers, and community partners
    • Direct finance and operations by managing budgeting, reporting, audits, and risk - ensuring fiscal responsibility and operational excellence
    • Strengthen brand visibility and public engagement through strategic communications, media outreach, and advocacy efforts
    • Build and maintain cross-border partnerships, creating meaningful bridges between North America and Türkiye through trusted NGO collaborations and diaspora engagement

    Ideal Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will pair cross-cultural fluency and emotional intelligence with an entrepreneurial mindset. Core requirements:

    • Fluency in English and Turkish
    • At least 5 years of leadership or management experience in the private, nonprofit, civil society, academic, or other relevant sectors, preferably at the executive level
    • Demonstrated success in business development, program management, strategic planning, and/or product development that delivered measurable growth
    • Solid grasp of finance, compliance, and program delivery
    • Excellent communication skills, with experience in public speaking, advocacy, and external representation
    • Proven ability to lead remote teams by empowering and inspiring staff to embrace enthusiasm, take ownership, drive initiative, and collaborate effectively
    • Good understanding of Türkiye’s social landscape and diaspora communities
    • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
    • Authorized to work in the U.S

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Prior work with nonprofits/NGOs in education, youth, health, disaster management, or cross-border giving
    • Familiarity with FinTech platforms or nonprofit IT systems

Interested candidates should submit their applications via this form. Applications received by July 31st will be given priority consideration.

If you have any questions, please make contact at apply@bridgetoturkiye.org. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
