    Position Overview:

    Casa Marianella is seeking a passionate and dedicated Immigration Attorney to join our legal team, focusing primarily on removal (deportation) defense. The attorney will represent noncitizens in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court, Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), and possibly in federal court. This position offers the opportunity to provide high-impact legal advocacy for individuals and families at risk of deportation.

    Key Responsabilities:

      • Represent clients in removal proceedings before Immigration Courts
      • Prepare and file applications for relief such as asylum, cancellation of removal, adjustment of status, and waivers
      • Draft motions, briefs, and legal memoranda for immigration and appellate courts
      • Conduct client interviews and maintain regular communication throughout the case
      • Advocate for clients before DHS (ICE, USCIS, CBP) as needed
      • Coordinate with legal assistants, case managers, volunteers, and interpreters
      • Keep informed on evolving immigration laws and policies
      • Participate in community outreach and know-your-rights presentations

    Qualifications:

      • J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to any U.S. state bar
      • At least 1–3 years of experience doing removal defense and immigration law
      • Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
      • Experience representing clients in Immigration Court is highly preferred
      • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently
      • Proficiency in Spanish or another language commonly spoken by immigrant communities is strongly preferred
      • Commitment to immigrant rights and social justice
