This is a Temporary, Part-Time Position
No Benefits, Paid Time Off or Holiday Pay
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am to 2:00pm
Position Duration: Beginning August 4th, 2025, Ending October 31st, 2025
Role and Responsibilities:
Assist in all Food Service Programs, including providing coverage to all distro staff when out on PTO or any other type of leave. FSPA must be flexible, ready to pivot in tasks throughout the day, and serve in all food service programs as needed.
Home Delivery
- Provide support to the Warehouse Assistant in setting up Home Delivery on Wednesday and Thursday between 8am-9am.
- Provide support in Home Delivery every Thursday 9am-2pm
- Run tent 1, Stage HD bags in tent, load HD drivers with routes
- Understand route sheets and how to assist HD drivers
- Learn how HD bags are made, including labeled bags, and be able to train volunteers in assembly
- Assist in restocking for HD on Thursday throughout the day
- Be able to lead, manage, and train volunteers in all tasks above
SPARKS
- Clean and clear SPARKS Fridges at the end of each week
- Check dates on food items twice a week
- Monitor cleanliness and organization of SPARKS area and work towards better practices
- Assist with organizing and storing grocery rescue items
- Assist with making SPARKS lunches in absence of volunteer lead
Pop-Ups
- Wednesday Pack up food items Van at 9:00am, Drive van to site, and set up food distro tent at Pop-Up by 9:30am
- Thursdays pack up food items van at 9:00am, Drive van and set up distro tents by 10:00am at pop-up
- Track all food items going out
- Organize volunteers at pop-ups for distro stations to pass out food items
- Manage volunteers in setting up garbage, compost and recycling processes
- Close distro side of pop-ups and transport recycling, garbage, and compost bins back to proper places
- Assist in unloading and cleaning out vans at end of day ensuring food items are stored safely
Tuesdays and Fridays in absence of Food Service Manager
- Receive and weigh In-kind Donations
- Receive deliveries (especially on Tuesdays)
- Manage warehouse area ensuring safe spaces, and correct storage practices
- Fulfill warehouse duties like picking food orders or assisting teammates in accessing food items
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Must be able to operate electric pallet jack
- Familiar with warehouse safety and food storage
- High School Diploma
- Valid WA State Drivers License
- Pass Background Check
- Authorized to work in the United States
Required Skills:
- Capable of leading and training volunteers in all Food Service Program roles.
- Practices good communication and is comfortable delegating tasks to volunteers.
- Can lift 50 pounds comfortably
- Can perform all tasks related to roles and responsibilities above
