    About the Role – Manager, Prospect Research & Development Operations

    The Manager, Prospect Research & Development Operations, will play a crucial role in diversifying GEAPP’s support base by significantly increasing funds received from institutional, corporate, and potentially individual donors annually. This role will be responsible for identifying and cultivating relationships with prospective funders, developing compelling proposals, and ensuring excellent stewardship. This is a unique opportunity to make an enduring impact within the international climate and energy field.

    Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Conduct comprehensive prospect research across institutional, corporate, and individual sources to identify emerging opportunities and build a robust funding pipeline for GEAPP.
    • Partner with Individuals and Institutional teams to develop and implement tailored engagement strategies for foundations, governments, corporations, and major individual supporters by providing in-depth landscape analysis and insights on potential donors and their funding priorities.
    • Conceptualize, drive and implement the prospect and funder’s lifecycle within GEAPP’s CRM (Salesforce), ensuring accurate tracking, reporting, and evaluation of engagement activities for the Partnerships team.
    • Oversee the gift acknowledgment process to ensure timely and appropriate recognition, and support development/finance reconciliation in collaboration with the finance team.
    • Maintain the integrity of funder and prospect data in Salesforce, regularly synthesize research into actionable insights, and support overall development reporting and administrative tasks as needed.
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive weekly pipeline reports and dashboards to track fundraising progress, and actively participate in the annual budgeting and forecasting processes for the Partnerships and External Relations department.
    • Conduct research and analysis on Open Philanthropy opportunities and assess their potential fit with GEAPP's strategic priorities.
    • Perform light-touch business development tracking, monitoring relevant industry trends and potential partnerships that could expand GEAPP's funding base.

    Qualifications:

    • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in development, with a focus on prospect research, data analytics, and donor relations.
    • Strong project management skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple complex projects with competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Proficiency in the use of online research tools relevant to institutional, corporate, and individual giving (e.g., Wealth Engine, DonorSearch, RelSci, Foundation Directory Online).
    • Strong ethical standards and impeccable judgment in handling sensitive and confidential information.
