    Description

    Position Overview

    The Grants Accountant reports to the Director of Grant Accounting and Reporting and serves as back up of grant accounting manager. This position is responsible for general accounting work such as: Account Payable, tracking grants expenses by project and helping with month end closing.

    What You'll Accomplish:

    • Responsible for Account payable transactions of representative offices.
    • Responsible for month end bank reconciliations.
    • Track grants expenses for projects assigned by Director of Grants Accounting and Reporting.
    • Work with finance staff on month end closing such as prepaid, accrued expenses and make any journal entries as required.
    • Responsible for some lead schedule for audit and 990 related works.
    • Responsible for Fixed Assets report including monthly depreciation, disposal.
    • Work on other tasks assigned by supervisor.

    Skills You'll Bring to the Role:

    • BA degree in accounting or similar discipline.
    • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in non-profit required, preferably related to grant accounting and management.
    • Effective accounting and organizational skills.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and advanced Excel skills preferred.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, particularly general ledger modules.
    • Ability to convey information clearly and effectively.
    • Must be details oriented and pay attention to details.
    • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
    • Flexibility: must be willing and capable of adapting to changing priorities and deadlines.
    • Ability to take initiative and complete project assignments independently or as part of a team.
    • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and produce quality results on time with attention to detail.
