    THE ORGANIZATION:

    The Mount Kisco Interfaith Food Pantry (MKIFP) is a weekly, choice pantry that provides in-person food distributions three times a week and home deliveries every other week. We are dedicated to nourishing our neighbors in need and envision a northern Westchester community where everyone has enough nutritious food and is empowered to thrive. Our staff and volunteers serve several hundred area households each week.

    THE OPPORUNTIY:

    The MKIFP has an exciting opportunity for a passionate and mission driven Director of Development, who will drive the generation of revenue necessary to sustain and grow our impact within the Northern Westchester community. This newly created leadership role will be primarily responsible for cultivating and soliciting major gifts to support the organization's mission which will eventually include a capital campaign. This individual is responsible for overseeing and managing all fundraising activities. This includes developing and implementing strategies, managing staff, building donor relationships, and ensuring that campaigns stay on track and within budget. They will work closely with the executive team, board members, and other development staff to align fundraising efforts with organizational goals.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Strategic Planning. Develop and implement a comprehensive major gift and a capital fundraising plan, including setting goals, identifying target prospects, and establishing timelines.
    • Prospect Management. Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of prospects, focusing on qualification, cultivation, and solicitation.
    • Donor Cultivation. Build and nurture relationships with major gift donors and prospects through personalized communication, events, and other engagement activities.
    • Gift Solicitation. Secure major gifts by collaborating with the ED, Board members and effectively communicating the organization's mission and fundraising needs.
    • Stewardship. Manage donor relationships after a gift is made, ensuring ongoing engagement and satisfaction.
    • Reporting and Analysis. Track fundraising progress, analyze data, and report on key performance indicators to measure the success of fundraising efforts.
    • Team Leadership. Provide leadership and guidance to development staff.
    • Budget Management: Contribute to the development of the annual fundraising budget and monitor expenditures related to major gifts and capital activities.

    REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Fundraising Expertise: Proven track record of successfully soliciting and securing major gifts and execution of a capital campaign.
    • Relationship Management: Exceptional ability to build and maintain strong relationships with donors and prospects.
    • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to craft compelling fundraising proposals and make persuasive presentations.
    • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement effective fundraising strategies.
    • Leadership and Management: Experience leading and motivating board members and fundraising professionals.
    • Analytical Skills: Ability to track fundraising progress, analyze data, and make data-driven decisions.
    • Donor Cultivation and Stewardship: Understanding of best practices for cultivating and stewarding major gift donors.
    • Knowledge of Fundraising Principles: Familiarity with fundraising trends, ethics, and legal requirements.
    • 5+ years of progressive fundraising experience with a proven track record of closing 6 and 7 figure gifts from individual donors
    • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (e.g. Business, Marketing, Nonprofit Management) or equivalent work experience. CFRE certification a plus.
    • Experience working on Capital or Comprehensive Campaign is a plus.
    • Proficiency in CRM and fundraising software.
    • Must be passionate about ending food insecurity and nonprofit work that benefits the local community.
    • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
    • Must be able to work in person at the MKIFP facilities.
