    Description

    Scope of Work:

    Develop a small scale culturally responsive technical assistance program tailored to the unique needs of diverse innovators and entrepreneurs for the Equitable Climate Tech Project. Work will begin with the program designer leading research and program design activities in October. Once the Partnership Manager is hired, the process will evolve into a collaborative effort to ensure alignment across research, program design, partnerships, and monetization strategy.

    Duration and Scope

    Duration: 6 month assignment

    Compensation: $30,000 (fixed fee for full contract period)

    Structure: Independent contractor agreement, paid in installments tied to milestones/deliverables.

    Key Responsibilities

    Phase 1: Independent lead

    1. Onboarding to existing Research and Assessments
    • Document Review of existing materials
      • Review strategic plan, program objectives, impact goals and logic models, and current programs and activities.
    • Needs Assessment
      • Identify gaps between current activities and impact goals.
      • Review staff and leadership's assessment of program strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT analysis).
    • Environmental Scan:
      • Research relevant social, economic, and policy trends and assess current and potential partners, competitors and gaps/opportunities for VL’s programs to add value to the ecosystem.

    Phase 2: Collaborative Development

    1. Program Design and Outcome Mapping
    • Set Clear Objectives:
      • Define specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) objectives for the program.
    • Outcome Mapping/ Theory of Change
      • Evolve the current logic model to illustrate how program activities lead to desired outcomes.
    • Program Framework:
      • Draft a comprehensive program framework outlining key components, including target participants, core activities, and expected outcomes.
      • Incorporate Partnership Manager input on partner alignment and community engagement
    1. Timeline and Resource Allocation
    • Develop a detailed implementation plan for the pilot phase including
      • Activity Plan: specify program activities with objectives and delivery methods
      • Timeline: milestones and deadlines
        • Define measurable milestones and metrics aligned with desired impact outcomes
        • Develop a detailed timeline for implementation including key activities and milestones
      • Resource Allocation: outline a budget including financial, material and partnership resources
    1. Monetization Strategy (Collaborative)
    • Lead exploration of revenue models and identify opportunities to monetize program:
      • Work jointly with OR Partnership Manager to explore potential monetization strategies for earned revenue ex: fee-for-service, corporate partnerships, and social enterprises.

    Final Deliverable (Handover Package):

    • Comprehensive packet that includes
      • Program blueprint/Framework with outcomes and budget.
      • Detailed implementation timeline with milestones.
      • Documentation of equity and inclusion considerations embedded in the program design.
