    Description

    The New Sector Alliance Facilitator Certification Program is designed to prepare a cohort of skilled facilitators to deliver the New Sector Alliance Leadership Longevity Fellows (LLF), Designing Your Success (DYS), and related programs. The Certification Program will involve a dual-role experience that will both build Facilitators’ professional leadership capacity and facilitation skills.

    Facilitators-in-Training will first participate in the Leadership Longevity Fellowship’s National Cohort (September 2025–August 2026) as fully sponsored participants, completing an immersive professional development experience. Then, Facilitators-in-Training will co-facilitate the program for a subsequent cohort, delivering the curriculum at local nonprofit sites for place-based cohorts or virtually for national cohorts.

    The Certification Program is ideal for mission-driven professionals with experience in facilitation, adult learning, and coaching—and a passion for building effective, diverse, and resilient leadership in the social sector.

    Key Certification Program Details:

    Location: Hybrid – National Program (virtual with travel for retreats); In-person – Boston and TBD (likely Denver and Chicago)

    Time Commitment: September 2025 – September 2026

    • National Fellowship (PD): Sept 2025 – Aug 2026 | ~75 hrs, active participation is required
    • Boston, Chicago, or Denver Facilitation: tentatively Jan 2026 – Sept 2026 | ~55 hrs, facilitation sessions will occur in-person, primarily on Fridays at nonprofit partner sites
    • Bi-weekly program team meetings: Oct 2025 – Sept 2026 | ~30 hours, virtual
    • Monthly 1:1 coaching: Jan 2026 – Sept 2026 | ~20 hours
    • Co-facilitation Prep: Jan 2026 – Sept 2026 | ~20 hours
    • Total: Sept 2025 – Sept 2026 | ~200 hrs

    Costs + Compensation: Combination of professional development + paid facilitation

    • National Fellowship (Professional Development): Covered via full scholarship
    • New Sector Program Facilitation & Program Meeting/Prep Time: Paid stipend

    Core Responsibilities:

    • Participate as a Leadership Longevity Fellow in all National program sessions (~75 hours total)
    • Work with co-facilitator(s) to prepare for and deliver program curriculum to assigned group of program participants (nonprofit leaders, competitively selected)
    • Provide 6-9 1:1 coaching sessions with New Sector Alliance program participants
    • Serve as a representative of the New Sector Alliance organization and brand, including maintaining and modeling professional standards in all fellowship interactions
    • Proactively identify emerging challenges and opportunities within the training cohort or with individual Fellows to ensure each participant has a high-quality experience
    • Demonstrate understanding of the New Sector Alliance theory of change and how our program(s), and your role as a facilitator in them, contributes to that change
    • Support the tracking and reporting of participant progress and feedback throughout the program
    • Tailor and send logistics communications for assigned group of program participants (such as communications related to meeting dates, times, assignments, etc.)
    • Communicate with nonprofit partner site contact(s) to ensure logistics and room set-up are appropriate for in-person facilitation plan
    • If needed, ask for coaching and source ideas from community of New Sector Alliance facilitators and alumni

    Qualifications:

    • Willingness to gain a thorough understanding of the New Sector Alliance program and curriculum through Certification Program/train-the-trainer (TTT) and your own exploration of the curriculum after the Certification Program/train-the-trainer (TTT)
    • At least one year of experience in facilitation, coaching, or leadership development
    • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
    • Comfort with both in-person and virtual delivery
    • Expert ability with the following tools: Gmail, Google Workspace, Zoom, and Google Slides (collaborative slide decks)
    • Cultural humility and ability to build inclusive, reflective learning environments
    • Commitment to personal growth, social impact, and effective leadership
    • Demonstrated commitment to and passion for New Sector’s mission

    Compensation & Advancement:

    • Full scholarship for National Leadership Longevity Fellowship retreats, bi-weekly Zoom sessions, coaching, and training (~$35,000 value)
    • Competitive facilitation stipend for place-based or subsequent national cohorts
    • Travel and lodging support for required retreats
    • Opportunities to facilitate future cohorts nationally or locally, with additional paid facilitation contracts
