    • Campus professionals support to resource and train professionals to best support their students

    Job Summary: Roles and Responsibilities

    The Adamah on Campus Midwest Coordinator will work to support and grow Adamah on Campus in the Midwest through chapter expansion, regional programming, immersive experiences, and more. “Midwest” for this position refers primarily, but not comprehensively to: Michigan (Detroit, Ann Arbor, and Lansing), Illinois (Chicago), Ohio (Cleveland, Cincinnati), Wisconsin (Madison, Milwaukee), Pennsylvania (Pittsburgh), and Missouri (St. Louis). This person will also work with the Adamah Detroit Hub team and the National Adamah on Campus team, both situated within the National Programs Division.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    Adamah on Campus Chapter Recruitment, Coordination and Support (50%)

    • Facilitate the creation of new Adamah campus chapters in the Midwest.
    • Implement clear recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing support processes with campus chapters.
    • Organize and facilitate meetings and programs with campus professionals and interested students, both virtual and in-person, as needed.
    • Support each of the campuses in identifying a minimum of 2 students who will each receive leadership training, mentorship, and support to create campus-based environmental education and climate justice programs engaging their campus communities.
    • Support existing chapters through regular communications with chapter leaders, program planning, data and testimonial collection, resource and local opportunity sharing, attending meetings and national cohort calls, etc.
    • Track, update, and analyze chapter data (programs, members, etc.) using Salesforce and other data management tools.

    In-Person Programming and Immersive Experiences (20%)

    • Run in-person programs throughout the region, bringing fun, joyful, and engaging Jewish environmental education and engagement to campuses.
    • Plan, coordinate, and run the Adamah on Campus Midwest Shabbaton at Tamarack Camp in October for 25 students across the Midwest to learn and connect.
    • Support the planning and implementation of national, in-person Adamah on Campus retreats/conferences throughout the year. Attend the National Chapter Leader’s Shabbaton at Pearlstone Retreat Center in September.

    Adamah Detroit Hub & National Programming (20%)

    • Connect student leaders and campus chapters to Adamah Detroit Hub programming and leadership opportunities, elevating the voices of college students in the Detroit and broader Midwest Jewish community (Special emphasis on supporting Adamah Detroit’s Annual Community Summit in November).
    • Work closely with the Adamah Detroit staff team and support general Adamah Detroit programming as needed, may include holiday events, speaker events, tabling, etc.
    • Be aware of other Adamah National Programs Division offerings, such as JYCM programming, Adamah’s Shamati Initiative, the Jewish Green Business Network, Peoplehood and Planethood initiatives, etc. and be willing to support and promote as needed to college students.

    Additional responsibilities (10%)

    • Support admin needs for both Adamah on Campus and Adamah Detroit, including data entry and analysis, managing spending and budget, grant reporting on impact, etc.
    • Support content development and revisions.
    • Contribute to newsletters and social media.
    • Attened meetings as required.
    • Table at conferences or other gatherings.
    • Other duties/tasks as assigned.

    Desired Skills

    The ideal candidate for the Adamah on Campus Midwest Coordinator position will possess the following skills and experiences:

    • At least two years of prior work experience for similar/related roles.
    • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.
    • Strong background in Jewish communal engagement.
    • Familiarity with environmental language, including climate justice frameworks, and sustainability initiatives.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Able to adapt to changing situations.
    • Comfortable working virtually and coordinating in
    • person events.
    • Event / retreat planning and coordination experience.
    • Experience in Salesforce or a similar CRM system is preferred but not required (you will be trained to use Salesforce as an important part of this position).

    Working Conditions

    • This is a full-time position, based in Detroit, with frequent travel around the Midwest and potential other domestic travel.
    • The salary for this position is $50,000.
    • Regular evening and occasional weekend work should be expected.
    • You will be eligible for health benefits effective one month after the start date. You will also attend an online Benefits Orientation meeting via Zoom before then. We will send a Benefits Guide booklet to you separately via email with our current benefit offerings.
