South Florida Program Manager

Position Summary:

HIP is seeking a Program Manager who will be responsible for program implementation and support in the South Florida region, including Miami-Dade County and Broward County.

The Program Manager will report to the South Florida Program Director, and will have both internal-facing and external-facing responsibilities, ranging from oversight of and reporting on program health to in-person support for school programs.

The ideal candidate will handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously, mixing long-term projects with the urgency of immediate demands.

Start Date: September 2025

Location: Based in Miami-Dade or Broward counties*

Type Of Position: Full-Time; Exempt; Reports to Program Director

Salary Range: $60,000-70,000

Medical Benefits: Monthly medical stipend

Core Responsibilities:

• In partnership with the Program Director, manage successful day-to-day program implementation in approximately 75 schools in Miami-Dade and Broward counties, ensuring the following key results:
  • HIP schools complete the program on time and with fidelity
  • HIP retains its faculty sponsors annually
  • Stakeholders (e.g., faculty sponsors, principals, student boards, district leaders) are effectively engaged throughout the program
• Work closely and effectively with the Program Team to deliver high-quality programming and support to all partners in South Florida region and in other regions
• Provide hands-on support to schools to ensure they meet program goals
• Ensure that program operations run smoothly at all schools, including consistent, communications with all schools (e.g., monitoring individual schools’ progress through Canvas, responding quickly to any stakeholder concerns, proactively communicating important information and deadlines to faculty sponsors)
• Represent HIP at community functions, meetings, and events

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree
• 2-3 years of school experience required (e.g., teaching, counseling, school leadership); experience in South Florida preferred
• Exceptional time management and organization skills
• Ability to balance multiple, competing priorities and remain flexible when priorities shift based on programming needs
• Strong relationship building and communication skills, including written and oral communications
• Highly collaborative and creative, with exemplary problem-solving skills
• Ability to maintain a calm, professional demeanor and big picture perspective in the face of challenging external dynamics and pressures
• Preferred: Microsoft Suite, Outlook, G-suite, Slack, Airtable, project-management software, Canvas, Calendly, Website development (WordPress, etc.)

About HIP:

HIP is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, based in Miami, Florida. HIP believes that every young person deserves to be physically and emotionally safe and healthy. To achieve this, we use the power of peer education by training high school students to be health teachers.

The traditional health education model, based on adults lecturing with outdated textbooks, scare tactics and cheesy videos, was a complete failure. This archaic model was in desperate need of innovation. But, instead of improving it, states either maintained the status quo or abandoned health education altogether.

We knew it was not enough for kids to only learn about world history, geometry, literature and biology. They needed to be taught how to cope with anxiety, get out of an abusive relationship, help a family member with depression, and support a bullied classmate.

The pandemic only exacerbated the need, causing a mental health emergency among children, adolescents and young adults.

If students are coping with physical and emotional health stressors and distractions, they cannot be successful in the classroom.

So, we came up with a solution.

Kids overwhelmingly prefer learning about health from their peers.

That is why HIP reinvented health education by creating the only peer-to-peer comprehensive program for high school students in the country.

HIP trains high school students to teach health education classes during the academic school day to all 9th graders at their own school.

Utilizing a unique, regularly-updated, science-based curriculum, HIP addresses critical health topics that are relatable and relevant to teens.

The Results:

• Developing thousands of student health leaders annually
• Creating school campuses that are safe and supportive
• Connecting students to health resources
• Supporting students so they know that they are not alone
• HIP’s South Florida schools are based in Miami-Dade, Broward, Monroe and Pinellas counties. The broader support team is remote. The Program Manager will spend up to 50% of time visiting and supporting schools in-person in Miami-Dade and Broward counties, and must be able to commute weekly to schools. The role will also include occasional travel to meet as a full team and support in regions outside of Florida. HIP provides a stipend for remote office set-up.
