This position is an exempt, full-time, union-eligible position, represented by Communication Workers of America Local 1180, reporting to the Senior Director of Development.
About Caring Across Generations:
Caring Across Generations is a national organization of family caregivers, care workers, disabled people, and aging adults working to transform the way we care in this country so that care is accessible, affordable, and equitable— and our systems of care enable everyone to live, work, and age with dignity. To achieve our vision, we transform cultural norms and narratives about aging, disability, and care; win federal and state-level policies; and build power amongst the people touched by care.
Founded in 2011 by Sarita Gupta and Ai-jen Poo, we take an explicitly intersectional approach to our work, connecting the dots between the urgent need to build a strong care infrastructure and the need for bold action on immigration reform, gender, racial, economic, and disability justice, and addressing the growing needs of our aging population.
Caring Across’ work is focused on creating change in three ways:
- Fighting for groundbreaking policy at the state and federal levels
- Changing hearts and minds through storytelling and cultural organizing, and
- Building a powerful constituency for care through online organizing and convening a powerful coalition of state and national care organizations and advocates to transform our nation’s care infrastructure.
