    About Climate Power

Climate Power is a strategic communications organization focused on winning the politics of climate. We’re educating Americans about our climate progress, highlighting how clean energy investments benefit local communities, and holding Big Oil accountable for polluting our air and water. We use data-backed messages to pave a path for bold action and shine a light on the price of ignoring the climate crisis would cost our health, economy, and future generations.

It’s our job to tell the story of how climate action and clean energy investment are rebuilding our economy, lowering energy costs, and protecting our planet for future generations. We call out disinformation from bad actors like the Big Oil lobby and make the climate stakes real for voters.

    About This Role

Reporting to the President, the Executive Director (ED) will lead Climate Power’s internal operations and execution, translating strategy into action and ensuring the organization runs effectively across all departments. The ED will be responsible for aligning programs, operations, and teams to meet both near-term and long-term goals, while fostering a strong, inclusive, and accountable culture.

Moreover, the ED will have a pulse of the organization through engaged leadership, leveraging that insight to provide the President, whose focus will be on big picture strategy, building partnerships, and fundraising.

The ED will oversee all aspects of the organization’s internal management and programs, including direct oversight of the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the Chief Program Officer (CPO), and the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO), as well as shared oversight of the Chief of Staff. The ED will sit on the Executive Team.

The ED will have strong analytical capabilities, including the ability to think critically and to propose and implement change successfully. The ideal candidate will have the ability to process and communicate complex issues to stakeholders and staff at all levels of Climate Power. The ED will represent the type of nimble and versatile leadership that is required for a dynamic, politically relevant organization at this moment
