    POSITION DESCRIPTION

    The Brooklyn Conservatory of Music (BKCM) seeks 1 full time Registrar & Operations

    Specialist/Front of House Liaison to join our Registration & Operations team.

    Registrars/Operations Specialists are front of house at BKCM’s home location at 58 7 th Avenue

    and are the primary staff liaisons with onsite students/clients. The position requires exemplary

    customer service, multi-tasking and verbal, interpersonal, and emotional communication skills.

    The ideal candidate is friendly, patient, can easily adapt to different kinds of people/customers,

    learn new registration/reservation systems, and is comfortable with technology. Candidates

    should have excellent people skills and thrive at problem solving.

    Registrar is a forward-facing position, ensuring that all students, families, and faculty receive the

    highest level of customer service, in addition to handling key backend maintenance of BKCM’s

    registration and room reservation systems. The Registrar position provides hands-on experience

    in the operations of a busy community music school, and potential opportunities to assist in other

    areas within BKCM including special events, marketing, social media, programming, and

    financial / administration management.

    Front of House Liaisons are responsible for monitoring the front of house at BKCM’s second

    location at Studio Creative Play (84 7 th Avenue, one and a half blocks from BKCM) during class

    hours, facilitating classroom setup, breakdown, and space care, liaising with students and their

    families, faculty, and appropriate BKCM and Studio Creative Play personnel to ensure the

    security of the location, helping to facilitate a successful space sharing experience.

    This is first and foremost a forward-facing position: candidates should be warm, engaging,

    attentive, and present and should have experience with and be comfortable interacting with

    children, have good problem solving capacity, and high interpersonal/emotional intelligence.

    This is a full-time position reporting to the Director of Administration with a $54,000-$56,000

    starting salary range. Full time employees are eligible for benefits through BKCM including

    medical, dental, vision, and auxiliary insurance; paid time off and holidays; and participation in

    BKCM’s 403(b) retirement plan.

    Please note, this is an in person position and cannot be done remotely.
