    Asset Funders Network (AFN) is a national membership organization with a strong point of view actively engaging philanthropy to advance equitable economic justice, opportunity and security.

    The Asset Funders Network is seeking an efficient, skilled, and highly motivated individual to join our growing organization. The Membership Associate is responsible for implementing and supporting AFN’s membership and fundraising activities. This role will be responsible for managing donor data, producing grant proposals and reports, processing invoices for membership and grant renewals, and supporting other membership activities and projects as part of the AFN team. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented and mission-driven professional looking to grow in nonprofit development.

    This role will be engaged in fiscal processes, funder engagement planning, relationship building, and fundraising discussions, as well as other confidential matters, for example related to personnel and system change planning and CRM documentation efforts. This role reports directly to AFN’s Membership Director, Kristin Rennels, and will work with staff at all levels of the organization.

    Deliverables

    • Manage grant proposal and reporting process, working closely with the Regional Program Officers, Senior Directors, and Programming staff to ensure accuracy.
    • Process invoices for annual membership and grant renewals and generate timely acknowledgment letters and receipts.
    • Attend and participate in periodic funder meetings to support the grant proposal process.
    • Maintain and update donor records in the CRM (YourMembership).
    • Produce reports, mailing lists, and other data analysis for membership events, funder outreach, and fundraising purposes.
    • Provide meeting and administrative support for the Membership team, including scheduling, materials preparation, and meeting coordination.
    • Assist with member prospect research and other approaches to identify funding opportunities aligned with AFN’s mission, strategic plan, and goals.
    • Coordinate with Communications staff to draft member materials, emails, and social media posts.
    • Respond to requests from leadership or members on needed specialized funding to advance the mission of AFN

    Skills and Qualifications

    Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience

    • Experience with MailChimp preferred or comparable CMS and e-marketing platforms
    • Experience with list management via CRM tools such as Insightly or Salesforce
    • Facility with the presentation tools available in the Microsoft Office Suite (including Powerpoint) and other online tools (e.g. Google Slides and Canva) to create brand-consistent materials, presentations, charts and graphs, or images for use in event and meeting planning and marketing
    • Experience using Zoom to run meetings and/or webinars or to support Zoom based discussions
    • Must demonstrate strong attention to detail and organizational skills
    • Must have demonstrable experience in positions that involve, even partially, event planning or management (with relevant references)

    The Most Successful Candidate:

    • Has experience reporting to matrix leadership or multiple stakeholders
    • Is highly organized and excels at time-management with multiple overlapping timelines, completing time-pressing tasks in expert fashion
    • Is an over-communicator (verbal and written) given the remote nature of the work and is comfortable flagging priority changes to key stakeholders
    • Enjoys engaging with people and embodies a great customer service ethic to foster positive organizational responses
    • Feels at ease working remotely with team members across multiple time zones
    • Knows, or is experienced with, philanthropy or the non-profit sector and its fundraising functions
    • Is comfortable following instructions and proposing solutions to problems
    • Is looking for a long-term employment contract
    • Has experience with the processes of philanthropic fundraising

    Location for Work

    The Membership Associate would work remotely from their home or leveraged office space with the ability to work with staff across the four time zones in the continental United States and the ability to periodically travel to meetings as needed.

    Compensation

    Salary is dependent on the applicant's skills and experience. This is an exempt employment position.

    Salary Range

    This position starts at 100% of full-time employment which is equivalent to $59,000 - $65,000 per year plus benefits. A negotiated salary will reflect experience.

    Benefits

    Benefits include a 401K contribution (5% of salary), health expenses reimbursement (QSEHRA) up to $6,350 per self-only employee and up to $12,800 per employee with a family, home office expense reimbursement (up to $2,500 per year), unlimited PTO, and more.

    Term

    This position will begin on August 18, 2025 and will continue dependent upon performance and continued funding. At least 70% of job functions must be completed during regular business hours in your primary time zone.

    Maximum hours of work

    This employment is for full-time, estimated to average 126 hours per month, anticipating some months will have greater or lesser hourly requirements to meet deadlines or perform the required work.
