    Description

    The UUCF Social Media Coordinator plans, creates, and delivers interesting and engaging content, develops social media strategies, and reports on key metrics. The coordinator has demonstrated good communication and writing skills, works well on collaborative teams, and stays on top of social media trends. The coordinator also has experience with photography, graphic design, and video production. Must reside in Northern Virginia to enable regular attendance at weekday, weekend, and evening UUCF events.     Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Develop and curate engaging content for social media platforms.
    • Assist in the creation and editing of written, video, and photo content.
    • Attend events, take photos and video, to produce social media content, including live content.
    • Maintain unified brand voice across different social media channels.
    • Collaborate weekly with the Communications Director to plan weekly social media content.
    • Collaborate once a month with the senior staff team to create a social media calendar.
    • Monitor social media channels for trends.
    • Interact with users and respond to social media messages, inquiries, and comments.
    • Tracks key metrics such as audience engagement, impressions, reach, referrals, and conversions.
    • Develop use of new social media platforms (e.g., TikTok, Blue Sky).
    • Assist in the development and management of social media marketing and influencer marketing strategy.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

    • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field.
    • 1-3 years experience with social media marketing or content development
    • Direct experience using social media management tools (Meta, Hootsuite, Sprout Social, etc.)
    • Direct experience with Canva and/or Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Premier Pro) or equivalent digital media design/editing tools
    • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook)
    • At least 2 years of strong writing, editing, proofreading, and electronic media experience.
    • Demonstrated ability to use social media to build interest and action.
    • Ability to work under deadline pressure and extra hours if needed on assignments.
    • Strong interpersonal and verbal communications skills.
    • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to organize and keep track of details, schedules, and resources.
    • The ability to manage email/text communications, responding promptly and organizing information to be used effectively.
