Position Summary
The A/V Technician 2 is charged with carrying out all aspects of high-level, audiovisual management, coordinating the sound, video, and stage lighting for UUCF worship services and other events that require A/V support. Full Job Listing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Technical expertise in audio and video technology for UUCF’s Sunday worship and special events, including the following duties:
- Collaborates with Ministers, Director of Music and Arts and Director of Communications.
- Pursues creative development, execution and training related to live and post-production of AV.
- Ensures that the AV ministry continues to grow in excellence and quality of effectiveness in alignment with the congregation’s strategic objectives.
- Skilled in creating and mixing quality sound in a live sanctuary space and for an online venue. Ensures high quality of external audio feed.
- Creates the audio sound stage, which is a unique set-up from week to week. This includes mixing and working with all types of audio set-ups including classical music and rock bands.
- Manages the worship PowerPoint presentation and ensures execution of content as supervised by the Communications Director.
- Keeps up with emerging trends in operating systems.
- Ensures that the video technician and/or volunteers execute delivery of a high-quality video experience during the in-person worship and technical delivery of all video aspects of livestream worship.
- Establishes a process for checking for all tech requirements before worship and congregational events to ensure optimum operation.
- Monitors and maintains the livestream throughout the worship experience.
- Works with contractors, as needed, to ensure complete A/V support of worship/events. This may include lighting consultants or outside audio support.
- Due to the need for some level of autonomy in implementation of audio/visual equipment, experience working with vendor relations/project management is a necessary responsibility of this role.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
- Experience or interest in audio, lighting, and video camera equipment. Proficiency in operating digital audio mixers, lighting consoles, video switchers, and PTZ cameras. Adhere to production standards to capture high-quality audio and video of the service and events for streaming or recording.
- Maintain a consistent production process and follow naming conventions to ensure repeatable results when working with volunteers.
- Familiarity with PowerPoint software for managing slides.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills that enable effective teamwork.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment and adapt swiftly to evolving circumstances.
