    Position Overview

    To provide counsel, individualized advocacy, and care coordination for survivors of human trafficking. Advocates work with each client to co-develop and enact an individual Empowerment Plans spanning 12 months. During this time, Advocates provide consultation on career exploration, map employment opportunities to education requirements, and overcoming housing barriers. While each Empowerment Plan is unique, the goal is always the same: achieve financial independence.

    Responsibilities

    Direct Guidance/Coaching to Survivors in Ohio

    • Guidance/Coaching/Advocacy
      • Provide a trauma informed professional relationship with survivors based on accountability, trust, and their goals.
      • Provides solution-focused, strengths-based support and management to assist survivors in progressing towards financial independence.
      • Provide internal and external referrals and resources as needed to survivors regarding: financial resources, housing, education, career
    • Data/Reporting
      • Documents therapeutic activity through weekly sessions, interview findings, clinical and social progress charts, and recommendations.
      • Creates timelines and funding needs surrounding housing, education, and employment needs.
    • Measures outcomes, ensuring programmatic impact and expectations are met.General Admin
      • Performs administrative and general office work as required, including preparing reports and correspondence, attending staff meetings, etc.

    Qualifications

    • Required
      • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the anti-trafficking movement and passion for cause.
      • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or closely related field with working knowledge of trauma, prognosis, counseling, and treatment. Clinical certification required.
      • Strong communication and time management skills needed to be an engaged remote worker on a national team.
    • Preferred
      • Up to date on current trends in the field of solutions to human trafficking, mental health, and coaching/case management.
      • Spanish speaking
