    We are looking for someone who is energetic, innovative and an engaging communicator who can help Alberta’s youth discover and learn about the career pathways available to them in the trades and technologies.

    Skills Canada Alberta (SCA) is a not-for-profit organization that showcases trade and technology careers as first choice career paths to Alberta’s youth. Through our diverse programs and competitions, our participants are inspired to develop their interests and talents and motivated to pursue meaningful careers in today’s most in-demand professions.

    EDUCATION FACILITATOR -Skills in the Classroom Presenter – All of Alberta

    Full time (37.5hr work week), 12-month term with possibility of renewal.

    Position Location: this role requires travel all around Alberta 4-5 days per week, we are flexible on the home base location for the suitable candidate however depending on your location this may require more time away from home.

    Start date: ASAP.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • A continuous interest in lifelong learning.
    • An active and collaborative team player.
    • Energetic, enthusiastic, creative, and confident presentation skills for YOUTH (junior, senior and post-secondary).
    • Ability and flexibility to travel around Alberta delivering school presentations, attending conferences and other industry events up to 4-5 days/week, with overnight stays.
    • Class 5 driver’s license with a clean abstract (company vehicle will be provided).
    • Related degree or diploma, such as education, business, marketing or recreation.
    • Proficiency working with Microsoft Office and designing presentations utilizing Prezi.
    • Ability to present remotely and in-person (tech provided).
    • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work independently.
    • Willingness to be hands-on and complete physical tasks.
    • A background in the trades or a technical background is considered an asset.

    Summary of Key Responsibilities:

    • Support the development of a creative presentation for students throughout Alberta that profiles trade and technology career options, as well as SCA programs and events.
    • Solicit and manage presentation requests and conduct presentations across Alberta on behalf of SCA.
    • Gather, create and post social media content to support the education program.
    • Identify and attend key profile opportunities at secondary and post-secondary education events, teachers’ conventions, tradeshow and industry events, Regional Skills Canada Competitions and career fairs.
    • Support the SCA team in hosting diverse events, conferences and competitions.
    • Identify and develop new opportunities to expand SCA’s educational programs.
