    Cooperación Santa Ana (CSA) envisions a strong, locally owned, shared economy where products and services are created with dignity and respect for the people that work them and the planet that sustains us. In Santa Ana and Orange County, we envision collectively addressing the needs of people of color and low-income families excluded from the economy through enterprises and businesses democratically owned and operated by them, networked in solidarity with each other, and supportive of their communities. We offer training, coaching and incubation, and host a cooperative network and fund governed by the cooperatives that form in Orange County. We are a worker self-directed nonprofit and share decision-making power amongst our staff, Board, and the cooperatives we incubate.

    POSITION SUMMARY

    Cooperación Santa Ana seeks an experienced, organized Grants Manager to join our team of passionate, dedicated staff. The Grants Manager is a full-time position responsible for assisting with the entire grant lifecycle. This person will be responsible for developing and streamlining Cooperacion Santa Ana’s grant processes and procedures, ensuring consistent compliance practices across programs, and advising staff on grant management and regulatory requirements. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Grants Manager will oversee our portfolio of grants and incorporate best practices in grant management into the organization. The Grants Manager will be also essential to all aspects of data management for Cooperacion Santa Ana including: metric identification, data collection, maintenance, monitoring, analysis, and internal reporting.

    The position is hybrid remote - required 1 day per week in Santa Ana, CA.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Works closely with the Executive Director, grant writer, and program partners to design, implement, and communicate grant management policies, procedures, and systems
    • Keep up to date with changes to grant regulations and other guidelines to ensure that internal policies and procedures reflect current best practices
    • Monitor program budgets to ensure timely expending of funds, and provide strategic input in the process of funding allocation across programs, working closely with the Executive Director and the accounting team
    • Act as a key point of contact for program partners and donors around grant-related issues, including but not limited to reviewing and processing budget modifications, extensions and increases/decreases
    • Prepare and track submission of grant management reporting, ensuring complete accuracy and timeliness of submissions via a grants calendar
    • Performs additional due diligence as needed to assess and mitigate compliance and reputational risk to the organization
    • Create a data reporting strategy to ensure data needed to measure impact and complete grant reports is provided by others at regular intervals
    • Collect and organize data from various sources, internal and external to Cooperacion Santa Ana
    • Track key data metrics in accordance with our strategic plan and goals, providing regular internal updates
    • Conduct analyses of data and translate findings into accessible recommendations and conclusions to be utilized for grant reporting and internal use
    • Participate in the governance of Cooperacion Santa Ana, a worker self-directed nonprofit, via quarterly strategic planning, committee, and governance meetings and decision-making

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • 3-5 years of grants management experience in a nonprofit organization, and experience managing at least one state or federal governmental grant
    • Is familiar with and have a demonstrated commitment to Santa Ana’s working-class communities of color
    • Is excited about building alternatives that will transition us into a just economy and comfortable with the uncertainty, learnings and chances associated with building something new
    • Experience working with budgets and financial reports
    • Community outreach and organizing experience a plus
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and organizational capabilities
    • Strong spreadsheet abilities and experience with grant management software
    • Exceptional attention to detail and strong ability to independently plan, organize, and prioritize work and deadlines
    • Comfortable independently anchoring multiple high-priority projects at once
    • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
    • Previous work experience in Orange County is a plus, but not required
