    Who we are:

    St. Nicks Alliance, a North Brooklyn based community organization, seeks to transform lives of low- and moderate-income people through employment, education, housing, elder care and social services. We do this by delivering impactful services with measurable outcomes to children, adults, and the elderly. As a civic anchor, we carry out this mission within the context of building a sustainable community for all people through the arts, environmental advocacy, and urban planning.

    We are currently looking for a dedicated Afterschool Group Leader to join our team in North Brooklyn.

    What you’ll do:

    • Support elementary and middle school students with completing their homework and developing strong study habits.
    • Help plan and lead a range of activities, including academic support sessions, enrichment programs, leadership initiatives, community service projects, physical education, arts and crafts, and performing arts experiences.
    • Incorporate literacy and STEM-based learning into daily activities, adapting lessons to meet the varied needs of students.
    • Work closely with supervisors, team members, youth participants, school staff, and families to create meaningful educational, recreational, and enrichment opportunities.
    • Maintain accurate attendance records and assist with snack distribution during program sessions.
    • Attend weekly staff meetings at most locations to support program communication and improvement.
    • Complete mandatory professional development training — 15 hours within the first six months and 30 hours every two years — to enhance skills and program quality.

    What we are looking for:

    • Bilingual abilities are a plus, though not required.
    • At least one year of experience working with young children is highly preferred.
