DUTIES:
- Working to help BPHC become an antiracist organization by meeting or exceeding the standards set by the BPHC Anti-Racism Policy.
- Ensures benefits-eligible employees are enrolled in benefit programs in a timely manner including health insurance/COBRA.
- Compiles weekly data ensuring accuracy and timely distribution of annual 1095-C forms.
- Support all stages of the recruiting process including creating employee requisition forms for review and approval; posting open positions; background checks, CORI’s and new hire paperwork.
- Support in drafting and preparing offer letters and new hire packages.
- Provide assistance, coordination and support for a specific set of assigned projects and initiatives across the Human Resources department.
- Prepare and manage candidate communications, including correspondence, engagement letters, welcome notices, and other essential documents in a timely manner.
- Supports onboarding processes including new hire orientation, benefits enrollment and managing the I9 process.
- Prepares benefit packets for terminated employees and disenrolls terminated employees from employer-sponsored benefits.
- Handles medical orders from the Massachusetts Department of Revenue - Child Support Enforcement.
- Processes MassHealth Preview Assistance Forms.
- Administers MBTA Pass Program, ensuring account payment, monthly order, and distribution of passes.
- Works in partnership with insurance carriers and other benefits providers to ensure smooth enrollment and accurate processing of claims and payments.
- Participates in new hire orientation presentations to ensure effective employee onboarding.
- Oversee annual health insurance open enrollment communication and administration for benefits-eligible employees.
- Communicates information on voluntary benefits programs such as FSAs, disability plans, life, and AD&D, 457(b) and a variety of optional programs.
- Manages annual health insurance look-back period for non-benefits eligible employees in compliance with the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
- Maintains accurate records of employee benefits information and ensuring data integrity within HR systems.
- Tracks health insurance deductions owed by employees on unpaid leave and sends monthly statements
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or a minimum of 3-5 years of human resources experience in talent operations, recruiting, benefits, or as a generalist with recruiting/staffing and/or benefits responsibilities. Ten years of relevant experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
- Experience with ADP and online job posting/applicant tracking system.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with HRIS systems (e.g., ADP, Workday)
- Excel skills required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations governing employee benefits.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple tasks.
- Strong working knowledge of HR principles, employment law, and HR best practices
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with candidates and internal stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal skills to persuade, influence and adapt communication style to different situations and individuals.
- Superior organizational and communication (written and verbal) skills required.
- Bilingual preferred
- Promote health equity, inclusion, and diversity within the BPHC, department and community.
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn about the role of public health in addressing racism, the social determinants of health, and inequities in health outcomes as well as strategies to advance racial justice and health equity.
Preferred or Plus:
- Familiarity working within union environments
