    Description

    The Content Marketing Specialist will lead the creation of short-form social media content (Reels, Stories, etc.) across platforms like Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn. This includes filming and editing video content for digital campaigns. They will cover live events, identify opportunities to engage with relevant social media trends, and utilize social listening to stay on top of current topics, sentiments, and influencers connected to our work. They will also assist in the creation of eblasts for events, campaigns, and automated journeys. This is a highly collaborative and hands-on role requiring strong visual, video, and digital communication skills. The ideal candidate is someone who excels at producing visual and digital content, thrives in a fast-paced nonprofit environment, and is passionate about storytelling that inspires action and connection. This is an in-person position in New York City, with an annual salary range of $54,000-$60,000 commensurate with experience.

    1. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS & SKILLS
    • Plan, film, and edit short-form video content (e.g., Reels, Stories) for use across multiple social media platforms.
    • Attend and document events, programs, and campaigns through video and photography for digital use.
    • Develop and manage content calendars in collaboration with the Content Marketing Manager.
    • Stay on top of emerging trends to create timely, relevant content that resonates with our audiences.
    • Engage in formalized social listening through various platforms and methods to stay on top of current topics, influencers, sentiments, and issues connected to our work.
    • Create and manage engaging email campaigns using Mailchimp
    • Ensure consistency with brand voice, visuals, and messaging.
    • Collaborate will internal departments to gather content and align on campaign goals.
    • Identify compelling storytelling opportunities from within the organization and turn them intocontent.
    • Track performance metrics and provide insight to help optimize future content.

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in related field is preferred
    • Minimum of 13 years of experience in content creation, digital marketing, or social media strategy.
    • Proficiency in video editing tools such as VEED, CapCut, Final Cut Pro, iMovie, or similar platforms

    TECHNICAL SKILLS

    • MS Office - Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
    • Proficiency in database marketing and social media platforms
    • Analytical skills preferred

    KEY COMPETENCIES

    • Proven experience filming and editing short-form video content (e.g., Reels, Stories) for multiple platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
    • Experience working with design and email marketing tools such as Canva and Mailchimp
    • Strong organizational and communication skills; collaborative and responsive team player.
    • An analytical thinker who is able to synthesize nuanced or complex issues, message them to different audiences in various ways, and connect them to social trends in a way that is appropriate and compelling
    • Passion for Spence-Chapin’s mission and a sensitivity to the topics of adoption, family-building, and diverse family structures.
    • Ability to work both collaboratively in a team and independently
    • Ability to multitask, prioritize to efficiently meet goals and deadlines
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
