    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Identity, Inc. is seeking a dynamic, responsible, detail-oriented, and flexible individual to be the coordinator for our new Therapeutic Mentoring Program, serving middle school aged youth and their families living in Clarksburg, Damascus, Germantown, and Poolesville. The coordinator will work closely with the Program Director, Clinical Supervisor, and will supervise two therapeutic mentors. This program pairs youth with one therapeutic mentor for one-on-one skill building, coaching, and practice to address behavioral concerns. The position is a hybrid position and reports directly to the Program Director.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the program including, but not limited to monitoring budget and expenses, ensuring staff comply with Identity’s and the County’s policies and procedures, and helps to coordinate communication between the Program Director, the Clinical Supervisor, partners, and evaluators.
    2. Works collaboratively with the Program Director and the Evaluation & Quality Assurance Team to write monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and ensures that data is regularly collected,documented, and accurate.
    3. Coaches, mentors, and supervises the therapeutic mentors to ensure that they have the support they need to meet contractual targets, help youth meet their goals, and promote success.
    4. Co-designs and/or coordinates expert trainings for staff on Identity’s policies and procedures, Positive Youth Development, Therapeutic Mentoring, Collaborative Problem Solving, Crisis Management, behavioral screenings, and other training as needed.
    5. Troubleshoots in times of crisis, assists when therapeutic mentors need assistance, and helps to connect mentors to services and programs that are needed by their clients.
    6. Oversees referrals from the therapeutic mentors to Identity’s Substance Use Prevention/Intervention Program, middle school programs, family strengthening/reunification, and case management programs to ensure a warm hand-off and make sure that youth have received services.
    7. Ensures that youth and parents receive a customer satisfaction survey upon discharge from services and that those surveys are received by the Evaluation & Quality Assurance Team.
    8. Attends County, school, and partner meetings with Director to provide information, updates, and outreach to various stakeholders in a professional, positive, and respectful manner as a representative of the program.
    9. Other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Must possess a bachelor’s degree or two years of supervisory experience working in a similar field and at least three years’ experience working in positive youth development programs with middle or high school youth, has served as a social worker in middle/high school, or has worked as a therapeutic mentor to middle/high school youth, skills coach, or behavioral interventionist.
    • Training in at least two of the following: trauma informed care, stages of change, motivational interviewing, substance use disorder, opioid use disorder, harm reduction strategies, dialectical behavioral training, or functional behavioral plans are desired.

    SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Fluency in oral, written, and presentation skills in English is required. Fluency in another language is a plus.
    • Must be able to pass a federal fingerprinting and background check.
    • Position requires travel between sites and access to a car, valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. Mileage reimbursement is available in this position.
    • Must complete the following training upon hire: Advancing Youth Development, SBRIT training, Motivational Interviewing Training, Sexual Harassment Prevention Training, Child Protective Services, HIPAA, CPR/First Aid, Collaborative Problem Solving, etc.
    • Must be proficient in MS Office Suite (word, PowerPoint, excel, forms, Teams, etc.), Adobe, Canva, and Zoom.
    • Demonstrates ability to be a positive, open-minded, and collaborative team member who enjoys working towards one goal and enjoys learning from others.
    • Demonstrates sound judgment and decision making when working with colleagues, youth, families, and partners. Shows flexibility, initiative, and resourcefulness in all actions and conversations.
    • Possesses the technical knowledge and abilities to perform job responsibilities while demonstrating a high skill level as well as reliability.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    • This is a full-time, 40-hr a week work schedule, with some evening and weekend hours as necessary.
    • This position is eligible for remote work one-day a week, after 90-day probationary period, if performance meets expectations.
    • When working remotely staff is required to have consistent, full-time access to Wi-Fi/Internet and a quiet working environment. Must be available to answer emails, phone calls, and Teams chats during scheduled working hours and come to the office if needed.
    • Must be flexible during the workday to move from remote location to on-site/schools/office as needed to serve the needs of staff and clients.
    • The ability to lift and move up to 10 lbs.
