    Job Summary

    The Manager of IT Operations oversees data and voice network operations for staff and the public, including maintaining computer workstations and providing for the IT and AV needs of programs and meeting rooms. Supervises IT staff members. As a leader of this team, provides reliable and responsive support to staff requests for assistance.

    DUTIES INCLUDE:

    • Maintains the library’s technology infrastructure, including networks, servers, databases, and security systems.
    • Collaborates with the leadership team to identify technology needs, recommend innovative solutions, and prioritize investment.
      • Assists users accessing systems and software. Answers questions and assists with training users on various personal computer (PC/Mac) based software systems.
      • Prepares computers and printers for deployment to public areas of the library and staff office computer.
      • Creates and maintains user accounts, groups, distribution lists, SharePoint sites, shared mailboxes and network systems.
      • Troubleshoots and resolves issues with email, Microsoft Office, Zoom, calendar management systems, mobile devices, VPN, printers, and networks.
      • Manages M365 environment including Intune, Entra/Identity, exchange, SharePoint, Purview, Defender, Power Automate, and Teams.
      • Monitors systems to ensure they remain in good working order.
      • Maintains an inventory of IT equipment and a proper budget plan for the department.
    • Maintains relationships with vendors.
      • Assists with setting audio/video equipment for library programs.
    • Ensures compliance with data privacy regulations and policies, safeguarding sensitive information collected by the library.
    • Conducts regular security audits, risk assessments, and staff training program to promote a culture of security awareness.
    • Lead and manage the helpdesk, providing escalated support to level 1 help desk employees.
      • Other IT projects as assigned by management.

    Qualifications and Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Information Technology or a related field.
    • A minimum of two years’ supervisory experience.
    • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems, and emerging technologies.
    • Experience in managing enterprise level network, hypervisors, DNS, DHCP, ticketing systems, servers, databases, and software applications.
    • Must be available for on call escalated support.
    • Demonstrated project management skills and willingness to bring a project management mindset to the teams.
    • Experience with ExchangeOnline Shell.
    • Proficiency in PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
    • Operating systems such as Windows Server, Linux and MacOS
    • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and experience implementing information security measures.
    • Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across different departments.
    • Flexible schedule and willingness to work evening and weekend shifts.
      • Must have a valid driver license.
