    Ceiba is seeking an Assistant Program Coordinator. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to provide quality customer service and free income tax assistance to the community via the IRS' Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program while contributing to meaningful change in Eastern North Philadelphia.

    About Ceiba:

    Ceiba is a non-profit organization in Philadelphia that promotes the economic development and financial inclusion of the Latino community through collaborations and advocacy aimed at ensuring their access to quality housing

    Role Overview:

    As the Assistant Program Coordinator, you will support the VITA program by coordinating marketing efforts, maintaining site equipment, and ensuring client privacy. You’ll assist with resolving tax issues, implementing procedures, and partnering with community organizations. Key duties include volunteer recruitment, training coordination, and maintaining compliance with IRS regulations.

    The Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Lead the intake process of tax preparation clients
    • Collaborate with VITA staff and the Communications team to execute a marketing plan for the VITA program
    • Maintain and troubleshoot tax preparation equipment
    • Ensure all client processes at each site respect privacy and confidentiality
    • Resolve client tax issues with the VITA staff and volunteer team
    • Develop and implement procedures for all tax preparation sites
    • Maintain all required certifications and ensure compliance with IRS rules and regulations

    Recommended Job Qualifications and Skills:

    • Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision
    • Excellent collaborative skills and teamwork
    • Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills
    • Self-motivated to acquire new knowledge
    • Bilingual English - Spanish
