    JOB SUMMARY

    The Saturday Program seeks a part-time Student Success Coordinator to bolster the program’s recruitment strategies, make onsite school visits, and prepare currently enrolled students to apply for and succeed in college. The Student Success Coordinator will work closely with the Program Director and develop relationships with the program’s instructors and students, specifically in the Portfolio Prep courses.

    CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develop and implement recruitment strategies and meet outcome goals to expand and matriculate a diverse student body, with a focus on reaching schools and students who do not have access to art classes.
    • Coordinate and make informational visits to NYC (all boroughs) public high schools, organizations, and programs.
    • Cultivate relationships with art teachers, parent associations, guidance counselors, and principals.
    • Develop partnerships with community-based organizations, museums, galleries, and art programs for recruitment, and coordinate informational sessions onsite/online.
    • Create, coordinate, and lead professional development and college-readiness workshops for high school students.
    • Collaborate with Cooper Union Admissions, student organizations, and alumni for recruitment.
    • Research and maintain data on NYC public high schools, specifically Title I schools.
    • Create recruitment content and strategy for Saturday Program social media platform, newsletter.
    • Manage and Track student progress via Slate registration platform.
    • Invite guests from organizations that will offer college information and FAFSA support to high school students.
    • This position will track and report on data related to student participation, college enrollment, and other goals established with the school, the Admissions office, and our funders.
    • Responsible for completion of student surveys, and testimonials.
    • Be onsite Saturdays to offer general support to the program and students, and college application support.

    SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS

    • Familiarity with the NYC public school system, art college admissions
    • Strong community partnership experience
    • Strong data management and analytical skills and data reporting experience
    • Excellent writing and communication skills
    • Enthusiastic and positive attitude, enjoys engaging with high school students
    • Attention to detail, organized, self-motivated
    • Excellent collaboration, coordination skills
    • Willing to travel within five boroughs
    • Familiarity with Slate platform a plus

    EDUCATION

    • BA/ BFA in Education, Art, Humanities
