Job Summary:

The Director of Transitional Coaching is responsible for ensuring that Transitional Coaches are working with young adults (YAs) to develop support and wrap around services based on individual support plans through UTEC programming expectations. This position addresses the barriers that impact TCs in supporting young adults. This position is also responsible for supervising staff and daily operations of UTEC. The position is responsible for supervising Transitional Coaches and Assistant Director of Transitional Coaching.

Competencies:

• Ability to demonstrate Knowledge of the Organization mission and vision, familiar with needs and strengths of local communities, and ability to align Transitional Coaching Goals to program outcomes. .
• Ability to Demonstrate understanding of Transitional Coaching Implementation Guide to educate and mentor the team to ensure best practices are prioritized .
• Ability to support/coach Transitional Coaches with different learning styles.
• Ability to critically think through and problem solve complex situations while centering best outcomes for young adults.
• Ability to make reasonable decisions quickly that align with UTEC’s scope of services and with UTEC’s restorative model of high support and high accountability.
• Must be able to receive constructive feedback, and guidance and have a growth mindset.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Hire, supervise, coach and evaluate Transitional Coaches in areas such as conflict resolution, risk assessment, goal creation, mentorship, system navigation, and crisis response
• Co-create department goals and metrics to track and assess throughout the year in collaboration with the Director of Transitional Coaching, , and Sr. Director of Evaluation.
• Assign TC portfolios based on factors such as area of need, TC area of strength, and YA/TC match
• Analyze program data and plan for program improvements related to TC department
• Create and track department budget to ensure financial responsibility and department financial goals
• Review/Audit of client files to ensure plans address identified needs, are up-to-date and that data quality is maintained
• Ensure Transitional Coaches are regularly monitoring client activity related to achieving personal and programmatic goals, and providing corrective action revisions to client portfolios as needed
• Provide direct supervision to individuals in the following positions:
  • Transitional Coaching Manager
  • Transitional Coaches
• Review and approve all timesheets and requests for time off.
• Provide regular supervision through individual meetings with direct reports on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.
• create a culture of accountability by providing direct reports with ongoing feedback on progress as well as any performance concerns to ensure all young adults receive the level of support necessary for their success.
• Train and oversee training of TCs in areas such as ISP development, ORAS, portfolio management, goal setting, time management, etc.
• Document any exceptional performance as well as any concerning behavior shared with HR
• Perform an annual written career development review with each direct report
• Identify areas for professional growth for all direct reports and align with any available resources at UTEC.
• Ensure systems are in place for all direct reports to have the opportunity to work toward professional goals internally or externally. .
• Ensure that all staff can identify the impact of their role on agency-wide goals and metrics for success.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Assist in front desk coverage ( Signing in visitors, and identifying people that need supervision in building.
• Attend program-related community, coalition, and committee meetings
• Attend directors meetings/ Supervisors Trainings.
• Maintain related administrative record-keeping and reporting systems as required by contracts
• Mediate young adult grievances and facilitate portfolio/client issues
• Ensure that Transitional Coaches continually monitor and evaluate each young adult’s progression through their individual plan, developing support and accountability plan as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation of service objectives and outcomes as well as other services in accordance with UTEC expectations
• Assist young adults and Transitional Coaches in obtaining necessary resources to achieve portfolio management goals
• Actively participate in client- and program-related meetings and training
• Adheres to standards of accountability and professional ethics in the care of Staff/Young Adults.
• Conducts crisis intervention as needed.
• Collaborate with all directors on
  • Decision-making related to young adults schedules and rosters
  • Reflection system and structures-ensure they’re running smoothly and supporting YA growth
  • Coverage when staff are out
  • Enroll and Dis-enroll YAs in WF Programming as needed
  • YA celebratory events: House Meal, Retreats, etc.
  • Operations and logistics that support young adult pathways: progress and support meetings, etc.
  • On-Call support (this candidate will be required to be on call weekly once every 4-6 weeks.)

Education and Experience:

• Six years minimum of direct care experience with emerging young adults
• Experience and knowledge of beneficial resources in the Merrimack Valley
• Former supervision experience of direct staff preferred
• Prior experience with Social Emotional Learning frameworks and/or direct SEL work with youth
• Knowledge of reentry and correctional institutions preferred
• Knowledge of court system preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Prolonged periods of standing/waiting (i.e. RMV, Court)
• Ability to travel as needed

Compensation

$75,000 plus benefits.
