    The Staten Island YMCA Counseling Service is seeking a Clinical Supervisor who will play an integral role in overseeing the clinical operations of our outpatient prevention and treatment services. In collaboration with the program supervisor, the Clinical Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality services, including through the use of evidence-based practices. They will assist with program management and development efforts, supervise clinical staff, and assist in fostering relationships with stakeholders, including colleges/universities, to enhance service delivery and compliance with regulatory and ethical standards.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide clinical supervision to members of the multi-disciplinary team (including program interns), enhance clinical and case management skill sets, and overall service delivery.
    • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to ensure that the administrative requirements associated with clinical service delivery are met.
    • Assist program leadership or the clinical team with managing high-risk clients/clinical situations, clinical issues, crises, and incidents.
    • Participate in case conferences and clinical team meetings.
    • Provide coaching, training, and staff development to the multi-disciplinary team.
    • Assist in the development and completion of mid-year progress and year-end check-ins.
    • Train and support staff in the use of evidence-based practices, including, but not limited to, motivational interviewing and trauma-informed care.
    • Conduct case reviews, audits of clinical records, and participate in the program’s utilization review process to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and guidance documents while also utilizing learnings to enhance service delivery, compliance, and utilization of best practices.
    • Participate in the Program and Incident Review Committee of the branch’s Board of Managers.
    • Monitor incidents, follow up on them, and identify corrective actions to ensure optimal resolution.
    • Assist in the regular and targeted updating of the program’s policies and procedures.
    • Document clinical supervision and complete necessary reporting documentation, including, but not limited to, the agency’s licensing/oversight agencies and schools.
    • Serve as a primary counselor and/or provide direct services, including, but not limited to, assessments and group and individual counseling services.
    • Deliver services and/or complete reporting for clients in the absence of primary counselors.
    • Serve as a Manager on Duty, assisting in the management of issues that may arise within the program.
    • In collaboration with program leadership, establish linkages and conduct community outreach.
    • Serve as a liaison with mandating and referring agencies.
    • Assist the Program Director in the preparation of reports for licensing, oversight, and funding agencies.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Desired Skills & Experience:

    • Individuals holding a LMHC are eligible to apply. LCSW or LMHC-D, preferred.
    • Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience.
    • Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience.
    • Knowledge of substance use/addiction, 12-step programs, and entitlements.
