    Description

    Position Description: Ideal candidates are bright, creative, patient, motivated, articulate, compassionate and well-training professionals excited to work in a team environment to make a direct impact on young people’s lives through their focused efforts in three primary areas:

    1. Direct Student Support: provide daily positive behavioral services and education to middle and high school student-athletes across three tiers of mental health and wellness (below); engage families, school partners and external agencies to create a comprehensive year-round plan to support children; track/monitor services and progress; and develop and navigate a network of local referral resources at appropriate agencies to assist students and families.

    Specifically: Tier 1: Provide direct, foundational support, focusing on positive mental health promotion and prevention, including activities such as creating a supportive environment, promoting healthy habits, and engaging with families and community partners to support student well-being

    Tier 2: Provide direct daily help and targeted services for individuals or small groups of students who need additional support, including interventions aimed at removing barriers to learning and reinforcing skills.

    Tier 3: Identifying and providing referral services for more intensive levels of support, including specialist services, CAMHS services, and services that may involve crisis intervention and recovery support.

    1. Employee Training & Education: develop and deliver an employee education and training program to improve knowledge and awareness of best practices and methods to existing and future program staff in order to increase organizational identification, reach, impact and effectiveness in the above direct service areas.
    2. New Initiatives: serve as an organizational spokesperson to the community, external partners and funders; plan, design and implement new community programs in coordination with the Community team to foster mental health and wellness in the surrounding neighborhoods; promote and execute planned service events (grief, teen, etc.); and disseminate resources on topics of interest to families in our community.

    Additional Information:

    a. Appropriate licensure, certifications or specialty credentials

    b. Advanced/graduate-level degrees strongly preferred

    c. Fluency in Spanish is favorable but not required

    d. Pass a criminal background screening

    e. Maintain current US or international driver’s license in good standing

    f. Non-U.S. citizen applicants must hold appropriate working papers valid for at least two years

    g. Acceptance of SquashSmarts at-will employment agreement

    Expected Weekly Hours: Monday-Friday 10:00am-6:30pm; some Saturdays 9:00am3:00pm expected with weekday comp provided; additional weekend/evening events throughout the year as assigned.
