    NON-PROFIT PHILANTHROPY MANAGER

    Beagle Freedom Project (BFP) is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the ultimate mission of ending animal testing. Through rescuing animals from animal testing laboratories, running insightful and challenging campaigns to raising awareness and closing laboratories, to outreach, education, and legislation, Beagle Freedom Project has become a leading organization in the fight against animal testing.

    BFP also rescues and advocates for other special needs animals and works tirelessly to end the archaic use and abuse of animals in many forms of exploitation.

    BFP is seeking a dedicated, experienced, assertive, and compassionate Philanthropy Manager who will maintain the integrity of BFP while working daily to ensure the organization is ever-expanding in doing as much as possible to end the animal testing industry.

    Therefore, this role requires a commitment to BFP’s mission and values. This person must also be not only comfortable with, but enjoy the company of all animals, not just dogs and cats because BFP rescues other animals in need. The animal testing industry does not discriminate; it tests on animals like goats, sheep, horses, pigs, alpacas, and more. BFP has rescued and continues to rescue these animals and now has a sanctuary where many of them live.

    The candidate must also be willing and able to travel. Traveling to the sanctuary in Oklahoma at least twice a year is also a requirement.

    Responsibilities will encompass the overall day-to-day functions and management of BFP’s ongoing funding efforts.

    Candidate must be comfortable multitasking and is required to have previous experience in a related position in a non-profit and be passionate about animal welfare.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Maintain, strengthen, and grow a generous community of major donors by developing a stewardship program through efforts such as major gifts, corporate support, special events, direct mail,website/email/social media campaigns, and one-on-one communications.
    • Forge and maintain relationships and strategies to build BFP’s visibility, impact, and financial resources.
    • Work closely with staff to drive and deliver annual and semi-annual fundraising goals.
    • Research, develop, and deliver a comprehensive grant calendar, ensuring consistent program development, narrative, and metrics that match the organization’s overall goals.
    • Develop and execute a well-designed stewardship plan and oversee overall relationships for retention,renewal, and growth for all major donors.
    • Strategize ways to cultivate existing relationships that encourage individuals to participate at new and increased levels, to involve their networks and to optimize their lifetime value as donors.
    • Design and implement planned giving campaigns.
    • Design and strategize Giving Tuesday and Year-End campaigns.
    • Design and strategize Capital Campaigns.
    • Work closely with the Social Media Manager, Campaigns and Rescue Department daily.
    • Establish contacts, build relationships, and present key asks to the business community to support aspects of Beagle Freedom Project’s mission.
    • Lead and work closely with staff in researching and assessing potential donors, and help cultivate these new relationships.
    • Train and mentor staff on donor relations, and communicate fundraising goals and progress throughout the entire organization.
    • Develop innovative ways to effectively communicate the value of contributing to BFP, the impact the organization is making, and presenting tangible results.
    • Develop key messaging and communications for promotion on various communication channels, including television, cable, radio, online and print to support BFP’s visibility and donor engagement.
    • Track revenue and the associated metrics, and report this data to senior management.
    • Manage all programs and campaigns and work on daily tasks related to them.

    • Experience running fundraising activities and events.
    • Relevant training, experience and/or certifications as a Non-Profit Development and/or Major Gifts, Philanthropy Manager or Director.
      • Understands software programs and can easily adapt to new programs.
      • Can manage Excel, MS, Dropbox, Google Docs, Quickbooks and other systems with ease.

    Education and Experience Requirements

      • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Non-Profit or Management preferred.
      • 5 or more years of non-profit leadership experience required.
      • 5 or more years of fundraising and development for a non-profit experience required.
      • Demonstrated experience in senior leadership positions.
    • Exceptional skills in strategic planning and business development.
    • Leadership qualities that inspire and motivate teams.
      • Quickbooks, Excel, MS and other software platforms.
