    Description

    The Stoneham Housing Authority (SHA) seeks an experienced and innovative housing administrator to lead and manage its programs, properties, and contracts. The SHA owns and operates 209 units of state-aided elderly/handicapped public housing and 76 units of state-aided family housing.

    Required Minimum Qualifications: A minimum of four (4) years’ experience in housing management, community development, public administration, non-profit administration or a closely related field. A bachelor’s degree may be substituted for two (2) years of experience; Associate degree may be substituted for one (1) year experience. Knowledge of the principles and practices of housing management, finances, and maintenance systems in public and private housing is desired. One (1) year’s experience overseeing at least three staff persons, or as a significant team leader, or program administration is required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Knowledge of laws regulating State housing programs and clearly demonstrated management and organizational skills are required. Experience working collaboratively with community leaders, other housing organizations, and people of various socio-economic backgrounds. Certification as a Public Housing Manager from an EOHLC approved accrediting organization is desired or must be obtained within one year of employment. The successful candidate must be able to pass a criminal background check prior to final selection.
