    Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:45-5:15 PM, nights and weekends as needed

    Summary

    The Development Assistant is responsible for ensuring a high-quality database, including gift entry, timely and accurate donor acknowledgment, and reporting. Another key function of the position will be to provide administrative support to the Senior Director of Development and the development team, including but not limited to purchase orders, invoices, and board committee preparation. This position requires nonprofit development database experience, the ability to work autonomously, and excellent teamwork skills and communication.

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities

    • Enters all gifts and pledges into Bloomerang, including those from third-party platforms such as YourCause, Benevity, etc.
    • Enters and maintains new constituent data in Bloomerang.
    • Prepares donor acknowledgments, fundraising reports, benchmarking surveys, and metrics using Bloomerang.
    • Executes queries, imports, and exports from Bloomerang.
    • Manages monthly donors, including processing monthly gifts and sending welcome packets to new monthly donors.
    • Reconciles and distributes monthly gift reports with the Finance department.
    • Manages all gift-in-kind, including coordination with staff, data entry, and receipts.
    • Manages and organizes the holiday drive.
    • Ensures compliance with gift recording policies and industry best practices.
    • Serves as a point of contact between the Finance department and Fund Development department; responsible for processing financial paperwork.
    • Coordinates development department meetings (scheduling, distributing support materials, correspondence, meeting minutes).
    • Assists in the production of documents, especially grant proposals.
    • Creates accurate lists for direct mail, email, and social media campaigns. Monitors results and produces reports for each campaign.
    • Assists with fundraising and marketing events.
    • Provides general office support as needed.

    Qualifications and Skills

    Required

    • Associate's degree and/or two (2) years of experience in fundraising, marketing, or related field required.
    • Must hold a valid driver's license and own reliable transportation.
    • Proficiency in the use of software programs for word processing, databases, spreadsheets, email, and the internet.
    • Attention to detail and accuracy, along with an understanding of data management/gift entry best practices.
    • Ability to maintain discretion with respect to confidential information.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, amid changing priorities, with the capacity to meet deadlines.
    • Superior project, time, and organizational management skill.
    • Possesses exceptional judgment and integrity.
    • Organized, creative, and detail-oriented.
    • Able to represent the organization professionally
    • Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills.
    • Flexibility in schedule, ability to attend events after work or on weekends.
    • Most importantly, a passion for Mosaic Family Services mission and making a difference in the North Texas Community.

    Preferred

    • Experience working in Bloomerang or other donor database software a plus.
    • Familiarity with an array of fundraising software, including but not limited to auction software and third- party donation platforms such as YourCause, Benevity, etc.
