    Description

    The Southern Environmental Law Center is seeking an Annual Giving Manager. This position will be based in one of the following offices: Chapel Hill, NC; Charlottesville, VA; Charleston, SC; or Atlanta, GA. This individual will join our Development team and report to our Director of Annual Giving. The Annual Giving Manager is responsible for developing and executing digital fundraising strategies to increase online giving and donor engagement across current, lapsed, and prospective supporters. This position will collaborate closely with the Development Communications team and Communications division to align messaging and campaigns, optimize user experience, and ensure integration with broader fundraising goals.     SELC has a hybrid work model that offers employees the flexibility to work remotely up to two days per week. This is a full-time, exempt position and employees must reside in our region. Employment is contingent on successful completion of a criminal background check.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Develop online giving strategies that inform, solicit, and engage current, lapsed and prospective donor audiences, creating and testing supporter journeys aimed at increasing online gifts for the annual giving program.
    • Work closely with fellow Development team members to ensure our digital fundraising reflects the overall annual giving fundraising strategies and activities.
    • Drive online donations by creating fundraising campaigns aligned with marketing and advocacy campaigns through collaboration with Communications.
    • Coordinate with Development and Communications teams to develop consistent messaging for an exceptional user experience that results in increased engagement and donations.
    • Provide data-driven results that can be measured through KPIs such as conversions, retention rates, and growing lifetime value of donors; monitor and analyze reports on all key KPIs.
    • Maintain and enhance fundraising focused pages on all SELC web properties and gift processing systems.
    • Test digital cultivation and fundraising tactics for donor acquisition and retention strategies for the annual giving, midlevel, and planned giving program.
    • Proactively pursue opportunities to further SELC’s efforts to create and foster a more diverse, inclusive, and equitable organization, including strategies to infuse commitments to equity into digital fundraising strategies.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Minimum three to five years of experience in fundraising, digital marketing and/or related experience.
    • Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software and online fundraising tools specifically email marketing platforms.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills, particularly the ability to adapt communication style to different audiences.
    • Demonstrated ability to balance short-term deadlines and rapid response moments with larger, longer-term projects.
    • Remain engaged and informed on digital fundraising best practices and has demonstrated track record of serving as an expert within an organization

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Direct experience in managing an online giving program from prospecting, soliciting, cultivating, and stewardship of donors.
    • Experience in the Salesforce CRM, Tableau, and/or Account Engagement (Salesforce Email Marketing Platform)

    Compensation & Benefits:

    SELC offers salaries competitive with other leading environmental nonprofits nationally and provides an excellent benefits package. The salary range for this position starts at $75,000 and will vary based on experience. For more details about our benefits package, please visit our Careers page.

    SELC is a PSLF (Public Service Loan Forgiveness) eligible employer.

    SELC will also provide relocation reimbursement for those relocating for an SELC position, up to a specific dollar amount and contingent on the move being at least 50 miles from the current primary address.
