    Description

    Position: School Expansion Program Manager

    Location: St. Paul office; St. Paul and Minneapolis School Sites

    Full Time: hybrid working conditions. Some limited evening work. Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation are needed. This is a one-year position at this point in time. We are open to either independent contractor or employee status.

    Salary: $47,000- $55,000 commensurate with experience.

    Program and Relationship Management

    • Manage and monitor program performance and compliance of a minimum of two new school sites.
    • Hire and supervise part-time AmeriCorps site coordinators, ensuring that they meet all program requirements.
    • Coach site coordinators; assist with on-site volunteer tutor coaching. Perform annual reviews of site coordinators.
    • Manage site coordinators in implementing structured session guides for each reading level.
    • Guide site coordinators and volunteers in responding to each child’s individual learning style.
    • Observe and coach volunteer tutors using program quality assessments.
    • Organize instructional materials and ensure that school sites have all the necessary equipment and materials.
    • Monitor calendars, schedules, and safety procedures.
    • Create schedules and match tutors with students in each school.
    • Assist with volunteer interviews and onboarding, as needed.
    • Fill in for site coordinators and tutors as needed.

    Data and Assessment Management

    • Maintain student and volunteer data for referrals, onboarding, training, attendance, tutoring dosage, literacy assessments, and student engagement.
    • Assist site coordinators in the administration of student assessments (Dibbels Acadience/SEL).
    • Enter data into Salesforce at beginning, middle, and end of year. Share student progress with site coordinators and volunteers. Provide interventions to further student progress.
    • Document and gather data to chart student growth/attendance as required by Experience Corps/AARP and ESLC.
    • Along with other program managers, provide documentation of student growth/attendance to Executive Director, ESLC Staff, ESLC Board of Directors for evaluation and planning purposes.

    AmeriCorps Grant Management

    • Research AmeriCorps requirements for ESLC’s specific sub-grant.
    • Input all required data needed for the AmeriCorps sub-grant.
    • Work with operations director and contract accountant to submit monthly financial reimbursement requests.
    • Monitor income and expenditures for the AmeriCorps grant.
    • Submit program reports to AmeriCorps as required.
    • Assist AmeriCorps site coordinators and AmeriCorps tutors with required e-grants and AmeriCorps data postings.
    • Draft narrative for future AmeriCorps funding.

    Training

    • Assist senior program manager with training and instruction for tutors around data, computers, apps (Zoom, logging hours, student sessions).
    • Along with site coordinators, support and train volunteers in maintaining accurate timesheets and session progress notes using online platforms; technologies needed for virtual tutoring including Zoom and Experience Corps and AmeriCorps platforms.
    • Manage site coordinators in developing supporting calendars, schedules, and training for volunteers.
    • Along with other program managers and the volunteer manager, schedule and deliver new and returning volunteer training in the Fall of each year. and ongoing as new tutors enroll.
    • Ensure that each tutor completes all required Experience Corps video trainings.
    • Provide technical support as needed.
    • Assist with planning events, trainings and orientations.

    Qualifications:

    Education: Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, human services, or a related field is preferred.

    Experience: Experience with the administrative complexities of a federally funded grant program is essential. At least 2 years of experience in AmeriCorps, Experience Corps or similar volunteer service programs. Experience working with children in an educational or mentoring capacity is highly desirable.

    Skills & Competencies:

    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with volunteers, staff, and students.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Experience in training and mentoring.
    • Excellent public speaking and presentation skills.
    • Knowledge of child development and/or literacy education strategies is a plus.
    • Ability to remain flexible and adaptable in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and volunteer management software is preferred.
