    Founded in Summit, New Jersey, in 1988, Family Promise is the leading national nonprofit addressing the crisis of family homelessness. Our organization, comprised of approximately 200 Affiliates, takes on the range of issues that can lead to homelessness. From prevention services to emergency shelter, stabilization supports, and permanent housing, we ensure families have access to critical resources to achieve lasting housing independence.     We are seeking a results-driven and community-minded Fundraising and Development Contractor to support the launch and sustainability of a new Family Promise Affiliate in Northwest Arkansas. This role will play a critical part in establishing a strong financial foundation for the Affiliate and cultivating local support and engagement.

    Key Responsibilities

    Fundraising Strategy and Execution

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to secure start-up and operating funds.
    • Identify and engage potential funding sources, including individual donors, corporations, and foundations.
    • Collaborate with Family Promise National and the Affiliate’s local board to ensure sustainability and alignment with organizational goals.
    • Meet fundraising benchmarks:
      • $25,000 by end of Quarter 1
      • $50,000 by end of Quarter 2
      • $100,000 by end of Quarter 3
      • $250,000 cumulative by end of Quarter 4

    Donor and Community Engagement

    • Create and execute a community engagement plan to build awareness and support.
    • Design donor communication tools and campaigns.
    • Support the establishment of a donor recognition program.

    Grant Research and Writing

    • Identify grant opportunities that align with Family Promise’s mission.
    • Draft and submit compelling grant proposals and letters of inquiry.
    • Establish a grant tracking system for deadlines, reporting, and award management.

    Event Planning

    • Plan and manage a major fundraising event by the end of the contract period.
    • Lead all aspects from concept development and budgeting to sponsorships, vendor coordination, and post-event follow-up.

    Communication with Family Promise

    • Report/Discuss progress towards goals, challenges and anticipated course corrections, at least twice per month, to the Director of Affiliate Services at Family Promise National.

    Ideal Contractor Profile

    • Proven experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, or campaign management.
    • Strong grant writing and donor communication skills.
    • Demonstrated success in planning and executing fundraising events.
    • Familiarity with donor databases and tracking systems.
    • Self-starter who can work independently while collaborating effectively with remote teams.
    • Passionate about family homelessness

    Compensation: Monthly stipend of $5000
