    About the Position

    Kesem is seeking a Marketing Manager, Social Media & Design, to lead the development and execution of Kesem’s social media strategy, content creation, and brand design. Reporting to the VP of Marketing, this role will drive awareness, engagement, and community-building through compelling social media campaigns, creative storytelling, and digital content.

    The ideal candidate is a creative and strategic thinker with expertise in social media management, content development, and digital engagement. They should be skilled in graphic design, video editing, and writing to help amplify Kesem’s mission. They also need to be versed in marketing analytics of digital channels to inform marketing effectiveness and efficiency.

    As a key member of the marketing team, this individual will ensure Kesem’s brand is visually compelling, socially relevant, and effectively and efficiently communicated across multiple platforms.

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

    Social Media Strategy & Content Development (50%)

    • Build and execute Kesem’s national social media strategy to increase awareness, relevance, and engagement.
    • Create, curate, and manage high-quality content tailored for social media platforms and online communities, including graphics, videos, stories, and posts.
    • Support Kesem’s chapter social media campaigns, pilots, and strategic execution.
    • Monitor and analyze social media performance, leveraging insights to optimize content and engagement.
    • Build and maintain social media tools, templates, and assets for student volunteers, influencers, alumni, board members, and brand ambassadors to amplify Kesem’s reach.
    • Develop and test collaborative marketing initiatives with partners, influencers, and affiliates.
    • Ensure affiliated social media platforms and communities maintained by volunteers, including chapter social media accounts and others, are operating following Kesem standards through training, resource development, and regular audits.
    • Respond to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely and authentic manner to engage with Kesem's online communities.

    Creative Design & Brand Visual Identity (30%)

    • Lead creative design efforts for the organization, ensuring a visually cohesive brand identity across all digital platforms.
    • Develop graphics, videos, and multimedia content for social media, marketing campaigns, and promotional materials.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align brand visuals with Kesem’s storytelling and marketing goals.

    Collaboration & Digital Strategy (20%)

    • Work closely with the CMO to align social media and creative strategies with Kesem’s overall marketing goals.
    • Coordinate social media efforts with other marketing initiatives, including fundraising campaigns, events, and recruitment strategies.
    • Stay updated on social media trends, emerging platforms, and best practices to continuously enhance Kesem’s digital presence.

    Qualifications

    • 5+ years of experience in social media management, content creation, graphic design, and marketing.
    • Experience developing and executing social media strategies across platforms like Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and TikTok.
    • Experience writing and curating compelling content for digital marketing, social media posts, and storytelling campaigns.
    • Ability to develop social media content calendars and execute daily posts, stories, and engagement strategies.
    • Strong understanding of brand identity and design principles to create visually engaging content.
    • Hands-on experience with graphic design and video editing tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, or CapCut).
    • Understanding of social media trends, best practices, and algorithms to optimize content reach and engagement.
    • Experience engaging with online communities, responding to messages, and fostering interaction with audiences.
    • Strong skills in graphic design for social media, marketing materials, and promotional assets.
    • Experience creating short-form videos, animations, and multimedia content for digital platforms.
    • Ability to collaborate with photographers, videographers, and other creative team members to enhance storytelling.
    • Understanding of visual storytelling and the ability to create compelling, mission-driven content.
    • Experience analyzing social media metrics (engagement, impressions, reach) and using insights to optimize content.
    • Familiarity with social media management tools (e.g. Sprout Social).
    • Ability to create reports on content performance that draw data-driven insights, implications, and suggest improvements.
    • Ability to work cross-functionally with fundraising, programming, chapters, and volunteers.
    • Experience coordinating influencer, affiliate, and/or ambassador marketing efforts is a plus.
    • Strong communication and project management skills to support various marketing initiatives.
    • Passion for Kesem’s mission and the ability to create authentic content that resonates with the community.

    Additional Information

    • The Marketing Manager, Social Media & Design role is a full-time and remote position, with responsibilities that require at least 40 hours of work per week, with some weeks requiring more.
    • It is expected that the Marketing Manager, Social Media & Design will be available for all staff calls, team meetings, and project meetings.
    • Travel may include staff meetings, national fundraising events and other engagements. On average, the Marketing Manager, Social Media & Design should expect to travel 3-5 times per year, all within the United States.
