    Description

    ABOUT CURESEARCH

Every day, 42 families hear the devastating words, “Your child has cancer.” At CureSearch for Children’s Cancer, we’re changing that reality by driving bold, innovative research and accelerating new treatments to reach kids faster.

We’re on a mission to ensure every child diagnosed with cancer has a safe and effective treatment option. To achieve this, we need passionate and driven individuals to join our team, people who are ready to make a difference.

    ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re seeking a highly organized, mission-driven Development Specialist to support our Donor Development department. Reporting to the Senior Director, Development, you’ll play a key role in driving fundraising success through prospect research, grants coordination, stewardship, and event sponsorship support.

If you're someone who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and enjoys building meaningful relationships that fuel impact, you’ll love this role.

    YOUR IMPACT

    As Development Specialist, you will:

      • Conduct in-depth prospect research and prepare briefs on individuals, corporations, and foundations.
      • Manage and maintain an active grants calendar, ensuring timely proposal and report submissions.
      • Draft compelling grant proposals and stewardship reports in partnership with the Senior Director.
      • Build and manage strong donor stewardship practices to deepen engagement and increase retention.
      • Identify and secure sponsorships for CureSearch’s annual scientific meeting (PEDS), Volunteer Summit, and other key events.
      • Support workplace giving initiatives, including America’s Charities and similar programs.
      • Maintain donor and prospect data in our CRM (NXT); generate development reports and dashboards.
      • Monitor event performance and collaborate with internal teams to optimize participant and sponsor experiences.
      • Provide logistical and on-site support at key events as needed.

    ABOUT YOU

      • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, marketing, business, communications, or related field.
      • 1–3 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, development operations, or donor stewardship.
      • Passionate about making a difference and excited to be part of a mission-driven organization.
      • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
      • Excellent writing, communication, and relationship-building skills.
      • Creative, curious, and solutions-focused.
      • Comfortable using Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and donor management systems (e.g., NXT, Raiser’s Edge).

    WHY YOU’LL LOVE WORKING HERE

We believe in doing meaningful work, and doing it well, with purpose and heart. Here’s what we offer:

      • 100% Remote work environment (with equipment and phone stipends).
      • Flexible schedule and autonomy to do your best work.
      • Generous PTO + summer Fridays + winter holiday week off.
      • Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and wellness resources.
      • 401(k) with employer match after one year.
      • A fun, inclusive team that truly supports each other and our mission.
