    “Full-Time Development Coordinator”

    The American Federation of Arts (AFA) is the leader in traveling exhibitions internationally. A nonprofit organization founded in 1909, the AFA is dedicated to enriching the public’s experience and understanding of the visual arts through organizing and touring art exhibitions for presentation in museums around the world, publishing exhibition catalogues featuring important scholarly research, and developing educational programs.

    This position reports to the Director of Institutional Advancement and Manager of Special Events and is responsible for a wide range of administrative tasks in the Development and Communications Departments.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist in the planning and execution of in person and virtual donor cultivation, fundraising and stewardship events (some evenings required)
    • Utilize Raisers Edge database to produce mailing lists, update constituent records, and liaise with finance department
    • Process contributions and gifts for the Development Department
    • Issue acknowledgement letters, receipts, and invoices related to special events, programs, membership, and annual fund
    • Assist with physical and digital mailings related to the Annual Fund, membership renewals, trustee dues, and events
    • Track and maintain up-to-date records of current, renewing, and lapsed individual and museum members
    • Organize and manage internal Development Team files to ensure accurate and accessible documentation
    • Conduct event attendee and prospective donor research
    • Assist with updating and managing website content
    • Create and maintain event pages via Eventbrite
    • Other related duties, as assigned

    Requirements

    • A minimum of five years special events/development experience
    • Experience with Raiser’s Edge database or other development database software required
    • Experience with WordPress and Excel required
    • Experience preferred with other frequently used programs including:
      • Microsoft Office Suite
      • Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, InDesign
      • MailChimp
      • Eventbrite
      • Zoom
    • Excellent writing, research, and broad communication skills essential
    • Undergraduate degree in an art-related program a plus

    Salary and Benefits

    Generous benefit package including 3 weeks paid vacation, fully funded medical, dental and vision insurance. Salary range is $55,000-$60,000
