    Description

    Immediate opening for a Research Analyst at the BBB Wise Giving Alliance. We are the most experienced charity monitor in the U.S., providing donors with giving guidance and reports on nationally and locally soliciting charities through our website, Give.org. We also strengthen the charitable sector by helping charities meet the comprehensive BBB Standards for Charity Accountability.

    Join our team of Research Analysts collecting and analyzing data from charities, communicating results, and working with them to improve practices to become Accredited Charities. The resulting reports published by our Analysts appear on our website, helping donors make informed giving decisions.

    Job duties include:

    • Sending requests for information to subject charities.
    • Analyzing charity information including financial documents, web content, and fundraising appeals.
    • Applying the 20 BBB Charity Standards, and using the results to produce detailed reports for the public. Analysts are responsible for tracking their own workflow to be sure reports are completed on time.
    • Communicating directly with charity representatives (via phone, video conference, mail and e-mail) about the results of evaluations and working with them to amend findings when possible.
    • Responding to requests for information and complaints from the public.
    • Assisting with the development and implementation of new programs.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Required Education and Skills:

    • Master’s Degree, preferably in Nonprofit Management or a related field.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • High attention to detail.
    • Highly organized and excellent at time management.

    Preferred Skills and Experience:

    • Experience working for charitable organizations.
    • Knowledge of fundraising methods and/or nonprofit accounting.
    • Familiarity with both the IRS Form 990 and audited financial statements.
    • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics or similar CRM or database solutions highly preferred.

    This is a fully remote work position, with occasional opportunities for in-person meetings for those near Arlington, VA. Proximity to the DC Metro area is preferred but not required.

    Starting salary $65,000 - $70,000, depending on experience. Excellent benefits include a 35-hour workweek, medical, dental and vision, 401(k) participation and time off benefits.
