Islamic Nasheed (Songs) Choir Director

IQRA Bilingual Academy's is a Grades Pre-K-12 Islamic-centered international school. It's mission is to produce a generation of Muslims who have a strong Islamic moral character; have a solid understanding of Tawheed (oneness of the Creator); have leadership skills superseded by Taqwa (piety); have a strong sense of social responsibility; interact with the community and assess global issues with an Islamic frame of mind, and are academically equipped to succeed and excel in an increasingly competitive and challenging world.

Requirements:

• Professional choral director experience
• Appropriate music degree or equivalent professional experience
• Ability to work with singers of different levels of musical ability
• Knowledge of vocal production and acapella choral techniques
• Knowledge of a wide range of vocal music with an extensive knowledge of Islamic Nasheeds
• Ability to motivate and inspire the choir
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work in a
• Islamic team environment
• Organizational and planning skills

Duties include:

• Plan and lead rehearsals (Sept. - June)
• Prepare and present concerts throughout the year culminating in IQRABA's Scholarship Concert in June
• Present concerts that are widely recognized as special experiences that transform and inspire audiences
