    About Us

    Invictus Bakery is a nonprofit bakery in Brooklyn and Staten Island that provides job training and employment opportunities for people on the autism spectrum. Through hands-on training, we empower individuals of all abilities to build skills, gain confidence, and reach their full potential in the culinary arts.

    Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

    Working alongside our Executive Directors, they will be charged with the following scope of work:

    Development and fundraising (80%)

    • Foundation grants – research and identify prospects, assist in building relationships, and collaborate with the Grant Writer on final report submissions
    • Corporate sponsorships – research and identify corporate prospects for contributions including in-kind, assist in building relationships, write and submit proposals and any subsequent required reports
    • Individual gifts – research and identify prospects, assist in building relationships, develop solicitation strategies
    • Donor communications – develop materials to share the work and vision of our organization, including collaboration with our Events Coordinator for occasional newsletters
    • Stewardship – develop strategies to engage donors and sponsors including support for occasional events, maintain detailed records

    Revenue-generating partnerships (20%)

    • Direct sales to locally-based businesses – identify and assist with outreach to new corporate partners for the sale of our delicious baked goods

    Other Responsibilities:

    Additionally, the Manager of Development & Partnerships will be responsible for:

    • Attending planning meetings with the Core Team and facilitating related tasks;
    • Attending quarterly Board meetings to present fundraising reports when requested;
    • Tracking outreach efforts; and
    • Working collaboratively with the team for bi-annual fundraising events.

    General Requirements

    • 2-3 years experience in nonprofit fundraising and development
    • Strong computer skills including (but not limited to) the use of the Google Drive and Microsoft Office
    • Commitment and sensitivity to neurodivergent people or other underserved populations

    Minimum Physical Requirements

    • Ability to travel locally
    • Primarily sedentary work involving ability to communicate through the use of the phone and computer
    • Ability to process complex information through spoken language
    • Ability to convey ideas through oral communication

    Minimum Mental Qualifications

    • Strong reasoning and analytical skills
    • Basic mathematics
    • Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills

    Compensation & Work Structure

    Salary: $60,000 (exempt)

    Hours: ~20 per week, flexible schedule

    Location: Primarily remote with occasional in-person meetings and events
