    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    L4GG is hiring a full-time Senior Pro Bono Manager focused on growing and managing engagement with L4GG’s broader volunteer network and developing pro bono systems for L4GG’s new Pro Bono Litigation Corps. This is an opportunity to play a key role in launching new initiatives and enhancing L4GG’s existing programs that provide free legal services to individuals and communities responding to urgent needs nationwide.

    Specific Job Responsibilities include:

    Volunteer Recruitment & Engagement

    • Build, cultivate, and maintain relationships with individual pro bono volunteers.
    • Create and maintain systems to cultivate deeper relationships with individual pro bono volunteers through regular check-ins and recognition efforts.
    • Match individual pro bono volunteers to Pro Bono Litigation Corps matters, which are expected to include matters related to L4GG’s Project Corazon, Fund Protection Clinic, and Reproductive Health Legal Assistance Project, as well as external pro bono opportunities with partner organizations, taking into account pro bono volunteer expertise, bar license, and interest.
    • Coordinate outreach, recruitment, and onboarding of new pro bono volunteers.

    Litigation Program Administration

    • Recruit and manage the participation of volunteers in active litigation matters.
    • Ensure compliance with ethical standards, professional responsibility requirements, and L4GG’s policies on client representation and conflict checks.
    • Monitor progress and provide support throughout the litigation process.
    • Work with the litigation teams to maintain case tracking databases and generate regular reports on pro bono activity and outcomes.
    • Assist in evaluating and improving L4GG’s pro bono litigation strategy.

    Program Development & Collaboration

    • Work with internal teams to conceptualize and launch new pro bono initiatives that align with community needs and organizational priorities.
    • Collaborate with the program and communications teams to publicize efforts, client stories, and impact.

    Requirements

    • At least 5 years of experience working directly with volunteers through a litigation-focused pro bono program at either a legal nonprofit, law firm, or law school.
    • Ability to cultivate and sustain external partnerships.
    • Strong customer service orientation
    • Strong leadership and project management skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to work independently as well as collaborate and work well with a team
    • Exceptionally strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Top-notch interpersonal skills and judgment
    • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and escalate issues as appropriate
    • Experience partnering with colleagues virtually
    • Access to a quiet workspace (home office or other space) with high-speed internet and the ability to take calls and/or video conferences during work hours
    • Exceptional technology comfort and competence including willingness to embrace new tools and self-train using provided resources as needed
    • Flexibility in adapting to the needs of a fast-paced national organization

    Desired Qualifications Include:

    • JD preferred
    • Experience supporting litigation matters as an attorney or paralegal
    • Professional and/or personal experience with L4GG’s core issue areas
    • Experience with any or all of the following digital tools: Airtable, Asana, Slack, Groove, Zoom, Google Drive, Google Docs, and Apple computers
