LOCATION(S):
- YM & YWHA of Washington Heights & Inwood, 54 Nagle Avenue, New York, NY 10024
- Camp Twelve Trails, 44 Henry Kaufmann Road, Orangeburg, NY 10962 (as needed, during the summer months of Camp)
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise staff responsible for implementing and expanding after-school programs, including Be Me, which is a fee-for-service program for children in kindergarten through 5th Grade.
- Supervise staff responsible for implementing and expanding youth, adult, and adult sports and wellness programs, including the fitness center and associated group exercise classes, soccer and basketball clinics, and the Hudson Cliff Baseball League, which is a co-ed spring league for children of all ability levels aged three to twelve.
- Supervise staff responsible for implementing and expanding the fee-for-service programs related to early childhood enrichment, including Tuesday New Moms Group, Thursday Parent and Baby Yoga, Sunday Kid’s gYm, Baby Fingers, and Toddler Exploration.
- Supervise staff responsible for implementing and expanding the fee-for-service programs, including Sunday birthday parties and Kidventures, which provides day trips for children in kindergarten through 5th Grade when New York City schools are closed during the regular school year.
- Supervise staff responsible for implementing and expanding literacy education initiatives, such as the Brooke Jackman Foundation-supported program for families.
- Supervise staff responsible for implementing and expanding after-school and weekend programs for children with developmental disabilities, including Sunday Funday and Hand in Hand.
- Support in the development of programs and supervision of staff for Camp Twelve Trails as necessary by maintaining a regular and ongoing presence on the campgrounds in Rockland County.
- Market all programs being supervised and expanded by working with the organization’s marketing team.
- Integrate the Y’s universal Jewish values and its connection to Israel in all programs where appropriate.
- Supervise program directors who serve the Youth and Recreation Department.
- Supervise the Database Administrator.
- Apply for grants and complete reports in cooperation with the organization’s grant writer.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Master's degree strongly preferred (Bachelor’s required) in one of the following fields: Child Development, Elementary Education, Jewish Education, Recreation, or a related field.
- At least ten (10) years of work with youth, including five (5) years as a supervisor, demonstrating success in enrichment or educational environments working with a broad spectrum of staff, volunteers, and program participants.
- Demonstrated experience in program development.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification, and Health & Safety certification helpful.
- Experience working with Salesforce platforms helpful.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
- Full-time, FSLA Exempt, onsite position.
- Regularly scheduled Monday to Friday.
- Some Sundays and evenings as needed.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
- Compensation range of $100,000-$110,000.

WORK AUTHORIZATION & CLEARANCE:
- Documentation of U.S. citizenship or eligibility to work in the U.S.
- Must pass the background check, medical tests, fingerprinting through the Department of Health & Department of Education, and other pre-employment requirements.
