    Position Summary

    The Senior Accountant supports the Foundation’s financial operations with a focus on fund-level accounting, planned giving administration, and financial analysis. This role plays a key part in managing the accounting lifecycle.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead the biweekly cash call process
    • Prepare and maintain detailed investment schedules, including the quarterly investment rollforward as well as alternative investment tracking
    • Manage the full lifecycle of fund activity, including establishing new funds in collaboration with Donor Services as well as the fund retirement process, preparing closing entries and documentation for year-end fund closures
    • Support the monthly close process by recording journal entries and account reconciliations as assigned
    • Prepare and review quarterly fund statements, perform fund-level analysis, and ensure the accuracy of investment-related entries; investigate negative fund balances and coordinate with relevant departments to resolve discrepancies
    • Review gift entries and post to the subledger; reconcile gift subledger to general ledger for assigned accounts
    • Conduct ongoing fund-level financial analysis and provide insights as needed
    • Support annual audit and tax filing processes by preparing financial schedules and documentation, including materials used for Form 990, compliance filings, and other regulatory reporting
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Education - BA/BS or equivalent experience required
    • Minimum of 3 years of progressively advancing experience in finance, accounting or related fields
    • Experience working with investment and/or accounting for investments
    • Excellent analytic and organizational skills
    • Strong interpersonal, management, written, leadership and oral communications skills
    • Ability to be self-directed with a competitive, results orientation
    • A capacity for strategic thinking, problem solving and consensus building
    • Demonstrated commitment to collaboration, teamwork and personal growth
    • Computer skills - excels with database, Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
