    Description

    The Senior Bookkeeper plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of Front and Centered. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate books, managing the accounts payable process, assisting with nonprofit tax reporting, and supporting grant and funder reporting needs. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and well-versed in nonprofit accounting practices

    Key Duties & Responsibilities

    • Maintain accurate and timely financial records in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
    • Process and manage accounts payable using tools like PayEm, Bill.com, or similar platforms.
    • Perform monthly reconciliations for bank, credit card, and other balance sheet accounts.
    • Support the preparation and documentation for annual Form 990 and 990-T filings.
    • Assist with grant and contract tracking, expense allocation, and funder reporting.
    • Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and nonprofit fiscal policies.
    • Maintain complete vendor records, W-9s, and oversee annual 1099 preparation.
    • Collaborate with staff to ensure proper expense coding and budget alignment.
    • Support finance team in generating monthly and quarterly reports for internal and board use.
    • Assist with audit preparation and the development of accounting procedures and workflows.
