About Us

Gaining Ground works with community volunteers to grow food for hunger relief. Hundreds of volunteers of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities come to our gardens in Concord, MA, to work, learn, and help to raise over 100,000 pounds of organic produce each growing season. Gaining Ground donates all of this food to 13 area programs that serve people in need of food assistance.

Gaining Ground offers a meaningful volunteer experience to anyone interested in our work. Students, at-risk teens, community-service groups, retirees, and wheelchair-bound individuals are all welcome to lend a hand. These volunteers help us plant, tend, and harvest a wide range of organic produce that is donated to people who need it.
