About Us

ACLAMO Family Centers mission is to provided educational programs, social services and access to health and wellness programs to Latinos and other community members to empower them to fully achieve their life potential. ACLAMO is a community service organization that provides low-income Latinos and other disadvantaged residents of Montgomery County and surrounding areas with improved access to resources and programs in education, health, employment, housing, and social services, especially those with limited English living in core residential neighborhoods of Norristown and Pottstown. Founded in 1977, ACLAMO has been an important “connector” in Montgomery County's human services network for 41 years. In 1983 it was the first Latino organization to become a full member of United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania. Over the years ACLAMO has received and successfully implemented grants from many private donors, including foundations, corporate, sectarian and civic organizations. Today, ACLAMO is still the only full-service organization and a safe heaven for Spanish speakers in Montgomery County. Its leadership has invested years developing ways to facilitate access to health and educational services for English language learners from early childhood to adulthood. ACLAMO has a special focus on comprehensive support to families with young and school age children. Important services and programs offered by ACLAMO include:

Education Department: ACLAMO’s Family Literacy supports kindergarten readiness and strengthens families through year-round pre-school education for ELLs and adult basic education and parenting classes for mothers. Our STEAM After-School, Summer Bridge, Teen Club and ADELANTE - College Prep programs boost basic academic achievement, build self-confidence, and support 21st century workforce and life skills among K-12 students.

Social Services Department: ACLAMO’s Intake/Referrals and Case Management Services assist individuals/families to resolve housing, employment, food and utilities, connect them with mental health, income support and other providers. Our Senior Services support Latino elders through case management, home visits, food baskets, and health care navigation.
